What should have been a fantastic day is one I try to forget. Before kick off, the buzz was unreal. The fans were absolutely 100% on it. Then 15 mins in it was clear ‘that Boro’ had turned up. Ho hum.
Absolutely loved the season after that, so maybe it worked out for the best.

It’s a good thing Ayala went on to have a very good season afterwards because I watched this back a couple weeks ago and his error for the first goal is almost unforgivable.

The atmosphere leaving the ground was odd, Norwich fans looked like they’d been relegated and it was us that were singing like we’d won.

Was interviewed by Clem and made it on the bbc. Amazing build up but fell flat as a pancake; beaten by the better team on the day but we were much the better team that season. Agree on the Vossen strike; that goes in and it's a completely different game.

Totally agree, we beat Norwich home and away that season and I think we were a more enjoyable side that season than the one after. Bamford, Vossen and Tomlin provided more spark than Nugent, Stuani and Downing, but I guess Aitor wanted us to be more compact and have forwards who would work hard. We also had a better kit that year

I think in hindsight its better that we lost, if we'd gone up and come straight back down (which I think we would have) that would mean we'd only had one 'good' season in the last 13-15.

As it stands, we've had two.

Kiké should have started for Bamford, it was like playing with 10 men because PB was clearly struggling from the start.

For the aforementioned reason I was feeling pretty grumpy all day. I'd decided anyway that even if we won I wasn't going to hang around for the presentation as it's ridiculous that you can get a trophy for finishing fourth. The match itself didn't help the mood. I was in the now-demolished Bree Louise in Euston by 17:20 and that was the best part of the day.

Remember being sat in my seat at 2:30 wondering why the boro team hadnt come out yet. Could not have helped in the slightest getting ten minutes of our warmups complete. For me playing a half-fit Bamford was unforgivable in a match like that, especially when Kike had done well that season and scored in the semi

I remember Howson was quite progressive that day. We bought him and he's had about 5 shots at goal.

Bamford could hardly run if I recall correctly, strange that someone with an eye for detail like Aitor played him ahead of Kike? Mind you he was a stubborn sod, playing Whitehead at right back rather than Fredericks cost us at least one goal.
