A relatively new party has become one of the favourites for the by-election. Could be an interesting change in northern politics if they were to win that.
 
I think its probably a labour easy victory, but it has a chance of being interesting. I dont know about it being a twitter gimmick, but it's certainly gained a lot of traction over the past 48 hours through twitter.

to say its an half baked idea would be giving credibility to McDonalds for Healthy eating.


by the way, North of Brighton would be a small hamlet called Preston Park !

To be honest it might give the centrists running the labour party and parachuting candidates into seats a kick up the ****. So that could be a good thing.
 
If Twitter was an indicator of election results then Labour would have a landslide every election. Really don’t think they will be anywhere near the tories or Labour
 
Nero - I was going to say exactly the same thing.

Now BREXIT is in place, If Labour can't get 45% of the electorate the Vote for them in a very strong Northern working class area, it is a poor show. It will be an interesting result. I was surprised Redcar went Tory but it could have been a lot BREXIT themed votes that were an one off.

He was originally put up for election by the football club, as a publicity stunt for their mascot and the football club.[6] Drummond took part in no serious campaigning and his only promise was for the council to provide free bananas for school children. He was the only candidate absent from the various local forums and question and answers sessions held during the campaign.[citation needed] Unexpectedly Drummond was narrowly elected, beating the second place Labour Party candidate by 5,696 to 5,174


So get yer bets on .... Only direct mayor in Britain to be elected 3 times.
