Normalising an impending war…

Are we being readied for an upcoming war with Russia..
Seems to be lots of what if talk and polls asking what we think about the situation..
What way do is the general population have to change the current climate and avert a war..
I served 22 years in the AF and never did I feel we were closer to a major conflict than I do now…
Might have to dust my Mk10 respirator off ( last time I had it out was the start of the pandemic lol)

The S10 was the worst thing ever made by man I hate that thing! Thankfully they brought in a double canister variety!

I don’t see us going to war with Russia.

I hope so, it is about time we put Putin back in his box.

My ar.se has been twitching about this since the very start of the Ukraine invasion.
 
I don’t think Russia could win a war with NATO but I think they know that and wouldn’t care… they know they can still do damage to us and there are several countries willing to align with them and gather the scraps..
I don’t think we have an appetite for a full on war unless our boarders are directly threatened..
Its more the threat of nuclear war that’s worrying me as I feel there’s some nutters running the show that think they’ll come out the other side better off 🤷🏼‍♂️
I’m guessing Isreal and Iran will have a short conflict soon but I can only see that going one way..
the problem we have is the perceived aggressors don’t seem to have enough humanity to care for their citizens..
There’s been talk of a great reset… is this the thanos moment? 👌🏾click…
 
I don't think the leaders and establishment of most countries value their people enough and never did, if we can make money through exploitation of people or situations we will. Lots on here glorify the very people who carry out the evil deeds.

In the past

We have already have dropped a atom bomb on 2 cities in the world and had a situation were one bunch of civilised Europeans managed to persuade their fellow countrymen that it was good political, religious and economical practice to murder in cold blood 6 million people, understandable that those people hate the world(hence their treatment of the Palestinian's) they are doing the same as the Nazi`s did to them.

I read that some German soldiers on those death camps threw live 2 and 3 yo children into the furnace when the zyclon B gas was not delivered in time. (manageable size of human to keep busy)

I find it easier to not contemplate what some of our current Tory politicians find their business to do, and how they can they can make money through exploitation. Even their voters know they are running down the NHS and lots of services amenities that help disabled, old, sick and poor without a thought and still vote for them.

We still have people bowing and grovelling to monarchs and their families...its 2024 FGS.
 
There is a very real possibility that we are gradually inching towards a major armed conflict.

It's very easy to talk up such things on social media and be swept along by things which sound good in principle.

However it would be a very different situation if/when it was to kick off.

Conflicts can escalate very quickly and by then there can be nothing you can do about it.....

Cool heads needed.
 
There already is a war ongoing with over 30,000 Ukrainian civilians killed or injured.
You won't hear much comment about this in certain quarters however because it doesn't fit an agenda.

Meanwhile, countries neigbouring the conflict are introducing or increasing conscription and are urging the UK and other western countries to follow suit.

Conscription unless in another world war is a bad idea.

In tactical terms we need to be seen to be doing nothing in terms of aggression but have the escalation ability to be feared by the enemy. This was why there was a large push on reserve forces when Afghanistan was closed down and why you’ll never see troops on our streets.

Conscription will only happen in a world level war and is very much the last option.
 
I don't watch the news anymore if my Mrs is in. Listening to little hints about war with Russia is really effecting her mood.
