Nobbys Notebook - Hull City ✍️📖

Hi Sportsfans, a disappointing defeat against Hull where the players sitting on the bench had more to do with the result than the starting line ups....

Hull looked half decent, Rosenior has them playing some decent stuff on the deck. The game flowed pretty well with only one booking all night for Hulls captain No 2 Lewie Coyle

No. 20 Liam Delap on loan from Man City put in a hard working shift and scored a good goal.

The much hyped and supposedly ex Boro Target No.30 .Scott Twine was anonymous before being subbed off after 61 mins for No.7 Tufan. The Turkey international made a big difference and his quality shone through when his shot evaded Dieng to win it for City.

No.44 Aaron Connelly would have loved to get a goal on his return to the Riverside. He buzzed about without impacting the game as we had previously become accustomed.

Another ex Boro player No.33 Cyrus Christie was shipped out as apparently he couldn't defend and he didn't disappoint losing the ball to Engel for the Boro opener.

My Notebook choice for the second time in 3 seasons was No.4 Jacob Greaves. A ball playing left sided centre back making his 150th appearance for the Tigers and still only 23. He marshalled the defence well and his lovely flick on created the equaliser. A good player he's ln the Notebook AGAIN guys 👍

Wasn’t overly impressed by any of their players to be honest and only impressed by one of ours.

A game lacking in real quality. Timing of the subs from them won them the game.

I couldnt really pick a Hull player who stood out for me really. I thought across the board they were mediocre at best, the Keeper pulled off a couple of saves, but he also contributed to putting his CB's under unnecessary pressure at times.

Overall I thought they were poor, and its a crime we didnt make them pay.

Jacob Greaves an obvious selection for any Football Manager fan!
Thought he looked good last night, composed on the ball, quick tall and athletic, put him next to Van Den Berg in central defence and it could be the next Mowbray and Pallister 👍

Pally was there last night btw sat next to Bernie. Gave me the nod when he left with 5 minutes to go guys 👍

I thought both CB's were 'luckily composed' on the ball - if that is even a phrase! haha

Both played out from the back, but JUST played out from the back. Another night both could have easily given away a goal a piece.

Agreed but Greaves is the one to watch, 150 Apps and still only 23 not to be sniffed at 👍

We tried to sign Greaves a few seasons back but he used our interest to get a massive pay rise. The tvvat!

You do know it's 2023/24 now, don't you?😉
I think you're right about their bench - helped change the game in their favour , while our subs weren't an improvement - in fact I think the changes weakened our 11
The number 6 who came on in defence for them also seemed to show some good leadership to help them at the back
