The new Lidl in Norton had loads in on Sunday

As someone who lives in Norton, I couldn't believe just how excited some people were about the opening of the new Lidl. It's just a Lidl, like any other Lidl, or so I thought. Now that I know that they sell Lilt I'll be straight over there in the morning.

I miss those bars of Highland toffee. It used to be 5p for the regular bar and 10p for the fancy one that was covered in chocolate. I doubt that my teeth could handle them these days. It was like biting in to a sticky piece of granite.

You’re not wrong! I never went in before it was a Weatherspoon’s but went in when it opened just to check it was an actual Weatherspoon’s and not a miniature DisneyWorld like some people were pretending.

I went through a phase in my early 20's of drinking Vodka & Lucozade when a fair few bars in the town started selling it.

Might have got drunk, and spent a fortune but I was never ill during all that time due to the magical healing powers of Lucozade.

I remember at Reading 93 (or perhaps 94) we all bought a different flavour 20/20 poured it into a washing up bowl (wherever that came from) to make a fruit punch.
