No compelling evidence

Just 10% of the government so called Levelling Up Fund has been spent. Only 64 of 1100 projects completed.

Typically, Ministers, Politicians and Civil Servants wildly optimistic about delivering projects. The likes of Daniel Kahnaman will knowingly nod at that.

I’m not sure if this is another Brexit bonus, or another failed Tory endeavour. Probably a bit of both.

Is that projects completed or projects commenced?

Completed according to the FT. 80% currently underway are delayed and will not be completed by the end of this month too.

The FT article is pretty damning about the whole thing. Poorly thought through, confusing bidding process, and way too optimistic about what can be achieved.

So 6% completed and 80% underway = 86% total.

I wouldn't be using end of month as an acceptable timeline, I imagine most projects must be at least 12+ months plus to complete, probably more.

That to me, doesn't really seem that bad. I think the opening post is little disingenuous, it doesn't take into account 80% are underway.

You realise this has been going since 2020 right? They haven't just started these projects.

It's pitiful, and you appear to be another Tory apologist.

80% are not underway. 80% of those expected to be completed this month are delayed.

Only 64 projects from 1100 are underway.

Why straight in with the insults rather than debate?

What if they weren’t aware of your first questions, does that still make them automatically a Tory apologist

Wrong way round fella.

If they weren't a Tory apologist they'd ask for clarity before saying that it doesn't seem bad and calling the original poster disingenuous.

Don't worry, he did this before on another thread where I did not insult the tories as much as I should have.

Actually it was the post office thread, I was told under no circumstances that the bloke was telling the truth and tories lying, which given the lack of the story since makes me still doubt it.

That makes more sense but in your post it did not say they were expected to be completed this month

The default position now should be that Tories are lying, they've done it for 14 years and the evidence of this is too compelling to ignore.

Look at Billingham, £20m to sort out the town centre and then the owners sell to another private firm and can see the money never being used or the purpose intended.
