NHS in serious trouble

His point is totally valid here but I’m still going to attempt to discredit him

If that's how you feel fine, doesn't bother me. The chap is an eternal pesamist regarding covid. The NHS is indeed in crisis, I agree with that. I can't bear indy sage as an organisation, if you like them then fine, I'm really not bothered. I also find it amusing that you believe I would attempt to discredit a man /organisation on a football message board where I have virtually no audience, and where I'm sure noone would take any notice and form their own opinion anyway. Indy sage...not for me, kit yates... again, always whining.... fmttm posters opinions on me.... they couldn't care less so it really doesn't matter what I say, and I'm sure kit yates followers would not be deterred at my attempt to discredit him on a post viewed by around 30 people lol.

Yeah cos pessimism around covid is totally misplaced isn’t it?

The whole situation is under control, well as long as we ignore the rising cases and hospitalisations, and ever increasingly contagious and immune evasive variants.

I'm not getting too deep into this and will leave this here. We disagree. Fund the NHS properly I agree with. Vaccines and masks I also agree with. The billions spent on closing the economy, schools, furlough was pointless, look where we are, as you say, still no better off for any of that spend excluding the vaccine. And it was indy sage shouting the loudest for all these mitigations (again excluding vaccines and masks from that) that got us nowhere. They make calls for clean air filtration systems which also sounds fine. But with indy sage its always " one step further" and I just always get the impression that they wouldn't stop until we are all locked down again, and kit yates is a member of this group, they also have a card carrying communist behavioural psychologist at the helm who would you believe advised the govt on this during the pandemic. which is just crazy

The theory goes that if the NHS gets really crap , people won't kick off so badly when it's sold off to American private companies.
Has a yone noticed how already your scans and xrays are being sent off to usa for assessment which takes about 3 weeks.
It's already happening.
bull****.

I had an X ray on Thursday which was looked at and the results given to me within 90 minutes.

GP's are also at fault for A+E and Urgent Care waiting times. People want to see a doctor, not have a telephone consult.

Also also also, Indy Sage? 😂😂😂😂 Gang of cranks who were always picked last in school for a sports team.

What pre condition is your state of mind ,to
conclude that just because you're experience of x ray was different to mine, then I'm talking bull**** ?
I was asked to sign consent forms for the scan results to go to usa.
The Dr was Carter of North Tees.
Be more respectful.

It's the same for mental health services they can't recruit enough staff to fill positions and good staff are leaving because of the associated unsustainable work loads

"A card carrying communist behavioural psychologist..."?
I`ve heard it all now.
McCarthyism lives and breathes amongst us.(n)

Susan michie, take a peek at her credentials, she is a behavioural psychologist and also a communist. She's also very found of the Chinese state.

Well its a tad worry that we would entrust rules and regulations to a behavioural psychologist who in her own words has some sympathy with the Chinese state. Our fearless government thought it was wise to take advice from this person who has political ideals that should frankly scare people, even when compared to the tories!

Immediate reintroduction of mask wearing at UHS

University Hospital Southampton has today taken the decision to reintroduce mask wearing throughout all areas of our hospital, following a sharp rise in COVID-19 in the community.
The transmissibility of the Omicron variants BA.4 and BA.5 is proving to be very high and once again we need to do everything possible to stop the spread of infection in order to protect our vulnerable patients, staff and the services we provide.
We are asking our community to help us achieve this.
The impact of this surge in COVID cases is being felt across all areas of our hospital, with 92 inpatients having tested positive. This includes patients admitted as a direct result of COVID-19 symptoms.
We have also been forced to close 19 hospital bays, putting beds out of action, because of contact with infectious patients.
The spike in cases is also affecting our staff, with a significant number of absence due to COVID-19 related illness.
Against this backdrop, we are continuing to see unprecedented levels of demand across our hospital and our emergency department (ED) continues to be busier than ever.
Our staff are working incredibly hard to care for everyone who needs our help and we are asking the community to please show their support, by taking the following steps:

  • Wearing a mask, unless medically exempt, and use hand gel when visiting the hospital
  • Stay away from our hospitals if you have symptoms, or are a contact of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19
  • Attend appointments on your own, wherever possible
  • Choose which service might be best if you are unwell and need medical care – consider a pharmacy, your GP, or visiting the urgent treatment centre unless it is urgent or a life-threatening emergency
We would like to sincerely thank our community for its support for this urgent response to the situation we find ourselves facing at UHS. Please be assured that the situation remains under regular review from our infection prevention team.

Well that sounds sensible, clean air, masks, vaccines all good, the rest of it is what appeared to be a tad ott, and has crippled the finances of the country

Im more concerned about the increasingly rapid privatisation of our NHS to Global Corporations [mostly USA] and sponsorship of MP`s by multi-national private healthcare firms - desperate to get their hands on our public healthcare.(y)

Potential death by negligence ["a tad ott"] isnt an ideological decision or acceptible.
Any practice which increases preventable death from covid and covid-related diseases is vital to staff and patients.
Do you work in healthcare?

I'm so concerned by that, but I still don't want indy sage anywhere near the debate knowing their views on things

I think we've crossed wires here. I'm taling about lockdowns, closure of children's playgrounds, eing illegal to meet more than 6 people outside, and the closure of businesses as be (well more than a tad OTT). Not the government's ineptitude, lack of preparation with PPE etc which was a travesty. And no I do t work I healthier lol, but I'm sorry, ill never agree that decimating private business was a sensible approach to this, we do also need them you know.

That is absolutely the case. I'm now the longest serving in my team as a shed load of people left. Their replacement's are now leaving.
