Next season signings .

I don't watch enough championship football, outside of our games, to know who is good and the stats alone don't tell me enough about the way they play. We're definitely not going to sign an Uche type striker no matter how many goals he has scored because it won't fit our style of play. Also, signing the finished article in the championship and paying £15m+ again doesn't guarantee anything. I would prefer to spend a bit less on the next Gyokeres etc than gamble big. Hopefully Kieran Scott and co have been spending the last few months trying to unearth some gems from the lower leagues and abroad. The cost of players in England is extortionate so there is definitely better value elsewhere. If Icould sign one championship player it would be Lucas Joao from Reading. Always impressed me when I've seen him. No idea what sort of fee they'd be expecting for him though.

Of the loan players I'd keep Balogun. I think he could come good with a full pre-season and an extended run in the first team.

Few on here I'd have, a lot out of reach wage wise though, with parachute payment clubs always more likely.
Jed Wallace and John Swift are all very good players and very much within our reach.
Stoke collapsed after Nick Powell had his leg broken, but he has a poor fitness record and can be inconsistent.
I'm presuming Brereton Diaz is PL bound.
Brooks is a cracking player - wish him well with his health.

Think Wallace could play as one of our three centre mids? Wonder if he could cover Jones at RWB?

Diaz was heavily linked with Southampton and West Ham wasn't he?

He’s not left footed but I think Wallace could comfortably play left wing back or as one of the centre mids

I'd stay away from loaning young U23 players with no experience of the mens game.
why? there are plenty that have been successful at this level. Fulham, Forest and Sheff Utd have several players that were largely playing U23s a year ago or are still under 22.

Neco Williams, Fabio Carvalho, Jayden Bogle, Gibbs-White, Brennan Johnson, Spence, James Garner, Anthony.

None of these had many starts in mens football. Some of the best players to play at this level were playing U23s before going on loan, such as Mason Mount and Harry Wilson.

Harvey Elliot last season too benefitted from that Blackburn loan. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him get another loan next season maybe to a lower Prem team

Swift would guarantee 7 goals and 7 assists from CM, and is a far better passer than say Crooks.
Zemura would be an excellent signing and give us more attacking prowess down the left, but I'd suspect that Bournemouth will resign him or he'll get a lower prem offer. He would be ideal for us though
Lenihan - would add some experience, organisation and leadership at the back

Sign those 3, sell Djed and buy Gyorkeres and we would have a very decent squad. Sign a keeper, and a coulpe of loan forwards, job done.

Would definetly have John Swift
Where would you play him? Instead of Payero or Crooks? Do we need him when we have so many other positions needing bolstering? I am not so sure, unless we looked to offload Payero or Crooks. Personally I’d like to persevere with Payero but yes Swift is a good player

You mentioned in your transfer lists you would be after a no 10. Swift perfect for that role. Wilder doesn’t play with an out and out 10 but if he’s open to altering his system slightly I would Sign Swift. Swift behind a pacey striker who can press would work well and you could still have the likes of Tav, Crooks etc behind. I don’t think Wilder will do that though

Howson is out of contract and Tav is in his last year and has been linked with moves away for a good chunk of this season?

Would love Zemura. Exactly the player we need as a left wing back

Given there's been questions about his work rate I'm not sure he's a CW type of player if I'm honest, albeit he is obviously talented.

I do think some of the signings might raise an eyebrow though.
I agree that’s why it would have to be a slightly changed system which I don’t think Wilder would be open too. Only thing we could to fit a player like Swift would be just to play and sign 1 really hard working striker who has goals in him and play Swift in behind him and then you could still have the solid base of the 3 middle lads behind him. Don’t see it happening though

Yeah thats my issue with Swift too. I’d like the number ten or at least a versatile striker who could do both if not, but Wilder is a man that changes personnel not systems it seems. I see Swift as predominantly a number 8 (Payero/Crooks) but agree he has done the 10 too. I can’t see Swift moving north without thinking he was ahead of Payero and Crooks to start with and think his wages might be on the higher side, he wont be happy on the bench I think having 3 decent 8’s would be a bit greedy and money better utilised elsewhere. I’d be open to selling Crooks if Swift could be accommodated (mainly because of his disciplinary issues, he is a good player but a walking double yellow every game). I don’t think CW is impressed with him either now for that reason.

Me neither really, I think the two front positions are the hardest working ones for CW.

I do think we'll bring in more of a 10 though, given how he relied upon McGoldrick so much.

Out of contract this summer
Howson - Peltier - Bamba - Taylor
I can only realistically see Howson getting a new deal
Out of contract next summer - I can only see Watmore staying

Lumley - Daniels - Fisher - Hall - Ameobi - Watmore - Olusanya - Coulson - Akpom

It appears most posters have been wrong with regards to Tav and Fry's deals - They run til 2024 according to The Gazzete

That's potentially 13 members of the squad that will be classed as either gone or we'll try flog. 10 of them are pretty much definitely going to be gone

Going to be some overhaul
