Sheff wed are rubbish and Southampton have picked a shocker in their manager who will be sacked within weeks

If Carrick is a lucky manager he couldn’t have 2 better chances and games to start a turnaround but I don’t believe it will happen.
I think the rot is set in. His dye is cast. I am just not seeing enough from the ‘outer edges’ (like players busting a gut for him)
Enough small signs that you sense something is going to turn….like Coventry last season, everyone could see it was going to come as they were a tight group with solid team/group spirit….

I think Carrick is a dead man walking (how quickly things can change) 🤷‍♂️

The football we played last season was some of the best I have seen us play and for that reason I hope we give MC time to turn this round within the 40 (Yes 40) games left to play.
I thought that we looked stronger than Blackburn yesterday when we were pushing for the equaliser.

Exactly, this season we’ve still looked decent going forward. The problem being we don’t take our chances like last season and our defending has been shambolic.

WE ARE HERE
—————————
7 games 4 points
8 games 5 points
9 games 8 points
10 games 9 points
——————————
11 games 10 points - Wilder’s Point
——————————
12 - 13 points
13 - 14 points
14 - 17 points
15 - 17 points
——————————
16 games 17 points - Leo’s Curve
——————————-
17 games 22 points - Warnock’s Wave
——————————

1.5ppg for the next 10 games would have us on 16 points at ‘Leo’s Curve’

That would look like 6 points at ‘Wilder’s Point’ is that going to be the minimum?

3 points every 5 games would be a dreadful start.. but an uplift and it would show signs of improvement at least. on target for a 60 point finish?

I see them doing it. I don't think effort is the problem. Our problem is we have only fry, lenihan, Howson, hackney, Jones and Crooks from last year's squad who are in and around the first team. McGree is a surprise omission but Boro fans used to slate him as well, before Carrick came in. I don't really blame anybody for how things have gone since May. Football is ups and downs.

Last year when we were in a similar position I thought we were pretty unlucky and there was a definite semblance of there being something there, this was proven when carrick managed to turn the same group of players around quite quickly.

This season we are not unlucky, we are just rank bad, amateur even. We’ve deserved nothing in most of the games and have signed untested dross in the main, replacing Akpom with a free transfer who did nothing at blackpool summing up our current situation.

I think we will stick with eachother. Lots of issues including the team being picked match to match. We cannot keep going through this cycle every single season. For good or bad I think we have to see this through.

To a point. If we look like we could go into League One then we'll have little choice but to let him go.

I don't entirely agree with that. Results and some aspects of our performances have been pretty dire but we're probably creating as many chances as we did in our purple patch last season.
For what it's worth I think Carrick will turn it round and several of the new players will eventually turn out to be good signings.
