New Years Honours List

Which highlights how unfair, random, divisive and perverse the whole sham is. How are the other players going to feel?

Even in the sham world this is - it is odd.

Particularly as the whole England Cricket team got awards when they won the WC.
For the avoidance of doubt I’m talking about the men’s team.
Same for the men’s Rugby World Cup winners.

Hmmm - there’s a thing

Yes, cricket the 'Gentlemans' game. I can imagine a small group of elite, very rich, privileged people sitting discussing and deciding who should, and who should not, receive an award. I may of course be totally wrong. They must have some royalty involvement however by nature of the awards. This is when it becomes a charade.

Who is Stephen Graham?

I’m a Republican and don’t hold with any of this guff. But it’s good to see a working class actor, at a time when the whole of the arts sector in the country has become dominated by middle class privately educated artists, getting recognition. Music, drama and other areas have almost ceased in a lot of state schools.
Funnily enough King Chuck looks to be making a bit of a political statement in some places.
Chris Bryant, chair of the privileges committee. Trying to hold some responsible for their actions
Alok Sharma, head of the Glasgow Cop ended up in tears after working his årse off.
The Permanent Sec at the Treasury, Tom Scholar. Sacked by Truss.
Cabinet Secretary, Mark Sedwill who continually clashed with Johnson.
Already got a ‘Sir’ but give him another.( one for each lapel)
That’s got to a political kick at Doris.

It is these people that should be selected, the men and women working in food banks, working with the homeless, giving their time up to offer clubs to young kids, the lads and lasses stood out in all weathers running sports clubs. These are the people who deserve it.
Not sure if anyone remembers the TV show secret millionaire. People with more money than they needed gave a few quid away and got the credit while talking to people who dedicated half their lives to helping others.
I used to enjoy watching it but a big element of it frustrated me.
