New Order - Hookys items up for auction.

Lots of goodies why is he selling it all is he skint. Selling awards is a bit like selling cup medals surprised it has no sentimental value to him

Some lovely original basses in this collection...mental. Billy Duffy out of The Cult did the same thing, flogged loads of memorobilia/gear and made a mint. Guess you can't take it with you so instead of old gear/gold disks/tshirts stuck in a cupboard somewhere, you may as well sell it. Hooky is probably doing it as a dig to New Order. Now if only Robert Smith out The Cure would sell off some of his guitars!

According to Hooky the sale of the various items is just a natural move of closure following the conclusion of the legal process.

his not skint.

if i had a wish list id go for the Acetates and the USA Gig Posters.

@Flood a guitarist mate of mine has an old guitar that belonged to Robert Smith - its a Fender Jaguar
Nice!, how did he get hold of it? A big fan of Jaguar/Jazzmaster guitars, have a couple myself

No idea why he is doing this, but I saw Peter Hook & The Light at the Kubix Festival last Saturday and in an exceptional live line up - Levellers, Wedding Present, New Model Army, Selector, Cast, Sleeper, The Farm, Hugh Cornwell and The Primitives, they were the band of the day. Even with Hooky's dodgy vocals.

He was in good form, clearly happy and performing live which is his love. Live music is where the money is. The legal wrangles are sorted with New Order and the acrimony has passed.

I've got to say, although New Order doing a full set will be/is better than Peter Hook and the Light, Saturday's performances of Ceremony, She's Lost Control and Love Will Tear Us Apart were better than New Order can do and in fact that version of Ceremony is a contender for the best single live song I've seen. It was sensational.

My 19 year old son reckons Saturday was the best single days music he has ever seen. He has seen a lot of bands and quite a number of festivals (he started at 12) and it was very much a retro line up from before his time, which tells you something, but it was Hooky's set that really cemented his view.

So don't miss him. I've seen PH&TL before and they were iffy, but not anymore. Great musicians and they are nailing it with the specialist sound engineers and todays sound systems.

I went to Hooky's Town Hall gig a couple of years ago when they done Technique, Republic and NO/JD 'greatest hits'.

It was a good night, really enjoyable 👍

Me too, it was good enjoyed the JD intro and Technique sounded great...however the 2nd Half of Republic has not aged well

I'd seen Peter Hook & the Light once before at Shine On weekender, where the version of Ceremony was very good and the crowd was buzzing off that

Based on Lefty's review above I'd like to see them again in the near future
