New Music

If you like your soul music, and especially an authentic vibe the output from Colmine, Daptone and Big Crown records is astonishing. Incredibly talented musicians and vocal performers. This live performance from members of the Altons and Thee Sinseers is almost like a time capsule. If you like this sort of thing.

Nice one. I'll look into these.

Finally last one today. Heard this band on John Peel in the 90's when I had(still have) and infatuation with anything to do with Sarah Records. Great to see they are still making music today as good as this. This could almost slot into Sarahs catalogue at any point in their glorious history.

Lovely

This is a new old song. From what I assume is a vinyl release of a song from 1967. Regardless its pretty good. Something I could hear The Brian Jonestown Massacre doing.

The Music Machine - The People In Me (Full-Length Version)

Another old record newly released(or it will be in November). One to order I think.

Trusted Woods by The Reverbs is the first single from a new compilation Strum & Thrum: The American Jangle Underground 1983-1987. Out November 13th, 2020.
Pre-order: https://capturedtracks.ffm.to/strumandthrum.oyd
Strum & Thrum aims to shed light on a forgotten era of jangly, melodic proto-indie rock. This video compiles archival footage of several of the bands on the compilation, including Absolute Grey, The Darrows, 28th Day, Downy Mildew, Sex Clark Five, and more.

Finishing with another old song just getting its first official release, I think.

Kevin Rowland (of Dexys Midnight Runners) - "Thunder Road"
Originally recorded for the 1999 album "My Beauty" but had to be removed from the track list at the last minute. It has now been restored to My Beauty which is being reissued on CD and Vinyl to mark its 21st anniversary.
Always thought this was great although not a huge fan of the original. I prefer other stuff from Springsteen
