ANGEL OLSEN - "MY REVERIE" (LARRY CLINTON & HIS ORCHESTRA COVER)

Angel Olsen covered "My Reverie" for new National Geographic series A Small Light (on which Este Haim served as executive music producer). Her rendition of the song draws on country, jazz, and Americana, with banjo and theremin underscoring Angel's gentle voice.

 
SHARON VAN ETTEN FEAT. MICHAEL IMPERIOLI - "I DON'T WANT TO SET THE WORLD ON FIRE" (THE INK SPOTS COVER)

For the same series, Sharon Van Etten covered dark love song "I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire," with a guest spot from actor and Zopa member Michael Imperioli. Her version is twangy and haunting, with lap steel and strummy guitars in the instrumental.

Impressive gig last night at Gulliver's in Manchester, probably the only time i'll ever see an omnichord played live. Equally impressed that in the interval before she came on 2 Love tracks were played, don't know if it was her doing or someone else's.....Guy Blakeslee (aka Entrance) her partner/collaborator also did an interesting support slot, in fact I got talking to a guy who'd only come to see him

She's very good IMHO. Glad she was good live.
On the subject of Love I was going my ironing today and playing a Sixties compilation I made. Alone Again Or came on and not for the first time I thought to myself "is this the greatest single ever". It possibly is.

FYI the 2 Love tracks they played in the interval were Always See Your Face and You Set The Scene
