So LABOUR started the break-up of the United Kingdom - well done Labour
Spot on @NoMushroom .
It is very easily forgotten but New Labour conceded the ground to the SNP which led to the mess of the breakup of the union at present. People can say oh the Scots have every right but once they're gone they'll soon feel the pinch.
It is the most disgraceful legacy of the Blair era along with Iraq/Afghanistan.

The mess of the Union at present is down to a Brexit vote that wasn’t devolved and refers to promises made by the incumbent Conservative MP at the time of the last Scottish Referendum that they would retain their place in the EU by voting to stay within the Union, a devolved vote would have kept them in the EU which is what the majority of those that voted in Scotland wanted, it stretches any credulity to suggest that the 1998 Scotland Act is responsible for the post Brexit ignorance of Scottish will.Spot on @NoMushroom .

I may well move with you CM. Born in Edinburgh, it's a lovely place. For purely personal reasons I'm looking forward to the indy vote (and outcome) as it means I can move there and get on the road to becoming a citizen of a modern, progressive nation (and all of the benefits that comes with that rather than hanging around in this despotic, feudal cesspit any longer.
They'll have probably made it illegal to leave by that point knowing my luck
Moronic stuff.England will be seen as a tinpot country when Scotland and Ireland leave
Is there any untruth in my post?
I'm not a "Tory 77th Activist" - I have no links / memberships to any political party - I'm a free spiritInteresting thread this because mushroom is a Tory 77th activist and he is giving an indication of how the Tories plan to blame Labour and Kier Starmer for the break up of the U.K.
We all know it’s another Tory mess but there will be plenty out there who will be happy to believe it.

Wilful misuse of a power is not the responsibility of the inventor.
The thing is Juno - The Scottish Borders and the Shetland islands will want an independence vote from Scotland - because they don't want to leave the UKNot sure how a leader who campaigned on a policy of 'taking back control' in a recent election can complain when other people want the same thing.
London didn't want to leave the EU, can they ditch the rest of England then? They pay for a large portion of the UK's infrastructure and economy, but surely you won't miss that? The thing is Juno - The Scottish Borders and the Shetland islands will want an independence vote from Scotland - because they don't want to leave the UK
So the SNP can't claim that Brexit pulled Scotland out of Europe 'against their will', without giving regions of Scotland the same choice about leaving the UK
Shetland Islands vote to explore independence from Scotland
The council argued that funding cuts to the island, alongside centralised decision-making, are reasons to look into independence.news.sky.com
