Neil Warnock Post Match Presser

Just watched the Quest interview with Warnock, boy he comes across well, my wife who knows absolutely nothing about football said , " I could work with him, seems a really good man,".
Compare that to Woodgates press conferences, arrogant, gum crewing, poor articulation, so chalk and cheese.
Warnock portrays us in a different light, people listen to him and teams will start to become wary of playing us again.
Love what he's doing on the pitch and the way he's raising our profile.
In Neil Warnock we trust and believe.
Like I said earlier dont underestimate competence

I’ll be honest I didn’t want Warnock at all and thought it was a short term appointment that would set us back.
How wrong was I? I love listening to his press conferences and the honesty he gives. No sound bites just a man chatting like a fan in the pub. I like how he was not afraid to drop the wing backs because they weren’t performing and has promoted people based on performances in training. I also like the way he’s got us set up with the flexibility at the back. Not the rigid boring approach I was expecting.
We’ve got a long way to go still but he’s certainly changed my opinion on him.

Got to agree. No way did I want him. When he came I thought ok he got to change my mind now and to be honest he is doing just that. Enjoyed the press conference.

Same here ! spent years whenever he was mentioned for Boro not wanting him anywhere near the place but I don't think I've changed my mind so much on anything like I have towards him.
Can't stop wandering now what might have been if we had took him on in his younger days but as they say, better late than never, we would have been looking at playing the Makems now if we hadn't brought him in, I'm sure of that.

First time I've bothered to watch one of these in a long time. And it is actually worth a listen!

Probably the last manager I bothered to listen to was Wee Gordon and that was just for the black humour when he was asked a stupid question. Since then, we have had (ignoring temps)

Mogga - dull
AK - dull with a foreign accent
Monk - arrogant and dull
Pullis - really dull
Woody - clueless and dull

Like BG I didn't want him here but boy is he making me start to like him

He’s definitely bought some positivity and optimism back to the club for the first time in years.

Wanted him as our manager years ago but he very much divided opinion, some people saying they would never go to a game if he managed our club etc. At least they haven’t got a choice this year.

You only have to look at how long he’s been in the game, he must of managed thousands of players but you would struggle to find many with a bad word against him.

What a superb press conference, clearly shows how much he loves and cares about football, whilst still acknowledging that there are more serious things happening at the moment!
Top top man. UTB

A lot of managers are dull in press conferences, they don't really want to say much, like poker players. Its hard to say interesting things (off the cuff) and not put your foot in it in a 20 minute interview. Warnock has a fast brain and a good memory (example - remembers playing for Hartlepool reserves at Horden Colliery in 1972 and the passion of the crowd - 150 people?) and he knows the right moment to say it.

Just watched the interview, he so passionate, loves his job, loves his time at the Boro, can't recall many passionate Boro manager interviews since Rioch, happy days

He enjoys talking football regardless of the company. Most managers seem to treat press conferences as a necessary evil and come across as guarded. It's obvious they can't wait to get it over with.
NW is warm and engaging, he must be a delight for the journos. Top man.

I think in a perfect scenario helmget us promoted then keep us up then wel sign a younger manager.
I think warnock loves the championship more than the premier league .
I could see him retire or semi retire and do Gills job but get paid full time 😆
He openly says he hates the prem. That said I'm sure he'd stay. think maybe a year or two at best then you'd think he would really want to retire.

II wouldn't want the stress at his time of life. He should go and live in his house in Italy with Sharon😂

I wouldnt Rule out Blackwell being in contention if he gave up and the end of this year and we'd massively improved.

Can't say I disagree with his comments about the PL

Maybe someone should ask NW to somewhere like Eston Labour Club (in R&C non lock down zone) for a Q & A type session. FMTTMers from outsize M'Bro lock down zone could attend and met up with him. He says he has free time in the evening and it would get him into a Boro heartland. I get the impression he wants to meet up with as many core long term Boro fans as possible and here the tales of how we took 35,000 fans to a Zenith Data Systems match at Wembley or 25,000 turned up to see a Boro reserves game when the TLF returned from injury in 2003. How many fans hitch hiked down the A1/A19 to get to away games when they had no money or 20 stood up in a Van. In more recent times the 10,000 fan torch display at Old Trafford for Ali Brownlee. He wants to feel our passion or some might say how daft we are!
