Neil Warnock hails George Friend's 'immense contribution' with Middlesbrough contract talks planned

George could be a decent back up and he was really good against Sheff Wed to be fair. I think he can be useful in certain games, it’s just when he is up against pace I worry. Friend had a field day against the likes of Nuhiu
 
Often a players influence can extend way beyond the pitch and Warnock clearly see's this in GF. If you factor in that both he and Johnson were prepare to stay and try and keep the club up, when they could easily have moved on and avoided a possible relegation on their records. That is the kind of players you need in your team. Ability, is of course, important, but you need the heart and desire to fight also.

Warnock clearly wants both players available next season, I don't have a problem with letting the manager select his own players, nor should any of our fans.
