Nearly half of Republicans don’t plan to get vaccinated!

Trump politicised Covid-19 despite knowing how deadly and easily transmitted it was as he revealed on the Bob Woodward calls.
Even as he was reading out the CDC's mask guidelines he stressed they were optional and he wouldn't be wearing one. That simple act ensured that his most loyal followers would not follow the guidelines. He even had his vaccine in secret and didn't publicise it.
Monkey see, monkey do is very apt here and if Trump had even an ounce of leadership in him he could have saved thousands of lives by setting an example.
I was never a fan of his before he became president, but since he announced his run my distain for him has turned to outright hate and in all honesty, if he died today it would immediately make the world a safer and better place.
He's as close to a human equivalent of Pandoras box as I can think of in the way that he has legitimised the unleashing of so many ills into the public psyche and society in general.

Yeah. Trump has a lot to answer for
How is that Trump's fault? He isn't around anymore? 🤔
Republicans, democrats, the sith, who cares, just stop using a medical tool as a political weapon.

Edit
Oh the whole covid response? Yeah not great from the Americans.

Did you really ask how it's trump's fault? Really? What have we told you about thinking

Trump isn't in power anymore. Hasn't been for a while. Did you read my edit? Obviously not.

I haven't seen any quotes where Trump had said not to take the vaccine. He's already had the vaccine more than likely, his daughter has too.

It's hilarious half the ***** you direct at me behind the screen of your iPad. 🤣

The problem is that he was very noisy dissing the pandemic and the steps he should have been taking to tackle it. He spread misinformation and he is/was very influential with many.

The pro vaccination position he has since took has been less prominent and influential.

It's a bit like expecting a small print tabloid apology tucked away on page 13 to counteract the front page news six months earlier.

Not quiet as hilarious as your whack job conspiracy theories. Or , in this instance, failing to grasp how Trump might have influenced Republicans to be idiotic about the virus. It staggers me how you can be so obtuse

But he's not in charge anymore Lefty. In fact since his ban from Facebook and Twitter I've hardly seen or heard anything about him since January.

Could Trump come out and release something about the vaccine and how people should get it if invited? Not a bad idea actually. Do the republicans have a de facto leader at the moment? Might be an idea that he/she has a press conference about it all.

He is still around - started his own blog and he's still ranting about the election being stolen. Polls say that 70% of Republicans believe him.
However bad things are in the UK, I'm glad I have my flight booked for leaving here, although we do worry about our kids...

Blimey. Last I'd seen was a rumor he was running for president again in 2024. I only saw this because someone had commented on a thread posted by De Santis on twitter on an unrelated subject to do with vaccine rollouts in supermarkets that Trump and De Santis should run together.

Crazy times. Keep the politics out of it and just let the relevant healthcare authorities do their jobs.

Trump is very much still in charge of the GOP. His America First proponents are attempting to get rid of Liz Chainey (3rd in command of the GOP) as she's calling out his lies about the election. GOP legislatures across the country are passing voting bills in an attempt to maintain their hold on power despite their minority share of the national vote. They are opposing giving Washington DC statehood.
We might not be getting blanket coverage of US politics in the UK now Trump isn't president, but Trump is very much still a massive influence over there.
