Nationwide building society

Anyone else get the email, basically saying "thanks for being members, here's £100.

I moved to Nationwide in 2008 because of the bankers crash and the sheer greed of our bankers.

Our bankers are still just as greedy, so it's amazing to get that email today, both me, the missus, my son and his missus are all getting £100.

I work for Nationwide. It's a great gesture. Be aware that not everyone is a 'member' though. I think you need two products such as a Current Account and a Mortgage to qualify.

Certain Current Accounts are also paying monthly cashback at 5% on your shopping each month, capped at £10.

These are the benefits of being a mutual Building Society and therefore not been driven by the need to pay dividends to shareholders.

Yep, for the last few months I have been shopping with my Chase card, who have been offering 1% on all shopping as cashback, Nationwide's offer of 5% off food shopping, sadly capped at £10, but gladly received has been most welcome. This £100 offer came out of the blue and is a game changer, against banks that are offering the same kind of money to move to them, seems loyalty sometimes does pay.

A nice gesture. I initially thought it was Junk, but after logging on to my account the confirmation message came up again.
Looking forward to the windfall - and who knows, by the time the payment comes through I may just have enough to buy a pint!

Great reward of membership and truly brings alive the mutual status. Great they’ve done that during a cost of living crisis

I believe the qualifying criteria is a current account with

Savings with 100 in or a mortgage

I'm not convinced this is correct because I meet those criteria and have heard nothing. My mortgage isn't with them though.

I've got two current accounts and a savings account......but because haven't got £100 in savings looks like I'm not eligible.

We have a savings account my wife's name and she has a current account......but she has the email saying she's getting £100.

Nationwide are not as lovely as people seem to think - still a pack of b*stards, same as the rest of them under this veneer.

Been looking for a new current account for a long time, just where to go.....🤔🤔

I've not paid anything in to mine this year as my wages go into our joint account now my wife's not working so that's why I'm not eligible.

They’re a pack of b… cos you didn’t meet the qualifying criteria?

I have the Flex Account and a Savings Account with nothing in it and I got the email. Luckily I had money in there on 31st March.

Yes negative experiences, especially with financial institutions will leave a sour taste 👍🏻
Been with them a long time, and their little "we're here to help" slogan.......yeah, Nationwides and my definition of help vary massively 😁.

Still, my Mrs gets £100, every little helps 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Like all the banks they are cůnts and arent there to help when you need it most despite what their fûcking awful tv ads imply

I have two current accounts with Nationwide and a credit card, but have received no email or messages when I log into my account.

Assuming I don't meet the criteria, though in fairness my credit card has been zero balance for years.

Need a savings account with £100 in or a mortgage.
