National insurance to come down...

The same NI which was pushed up under Theresa May while trumpeting no tax rises and quietly ushering lots of people into 40% brackets and raking in VAT during years of higher inflation.

How generous they are. When we drive on smooth roads, have children educated in classes overflowing with support staff and can have health procedures carried out at the click of a finger, I can fully understand how Mr Hunt can spare me that extra few quid.
Yes, hunt will benefit to the tune of £750 whilst a standard nurse benefits to the tune of £250,
The Tories are the epitome of unfairness and shameless

Whoopy do, big deal....
I don't benefit because I am a pensioner.
My wife doesn't benefit because she doesn't have a wage or pension.
My daughter doesn't benefit because she doesn't earn enough.
Her husband doesn't benefit because he also doesn't earn enough.
My granddaughter doesn't benefit because she is on zero hours .
My mother (aged 91) doesn't benefit.
Unemployed people don't benefit.
Sick people don't benefit.
Students don't benefit.
So... how much money will be passed on to the general public.
How much per week is it worth to the average wage earner.
No benefit to Employers either.

They are either sandbagging with these leaks pending a "major tax cut" (income tax) or they are scared the markets will collapse Truss style as most economists are fully aware of the clusterturd that is our nations finances.

Alternatively, they are giving a token tax cut so they can "fund" slashing inheritance tax, which will ultimately benefit them are their mates once they are booted out.
NI cut only. Cuts to NI and income tax require two separate pieces of legislation however only one session has been set aside next week to pass the bill. As the NI cut has been well trailed it's highly unlikely there will also be a cut in income tax.

Yes, it won't be both. NI cuts are not the wow many Tories are after.

Well, your not wrong there. Imagine a government that invests in the NHS and other public services, isn't that worth more than a season ticket?
Yeah I get it but the tory government aren't doing this so what's the point until the new government is elected

If you're getting a below inflation pay rise then a reduction in NI might be enough to get you back to level. I suspect very few people will actually benefit because most people will be getting below inflation pay rises.

This just shows how lost the Tories are. Cowing to the right of the party yet again with a half arsed ‘tax cut’ which is the cheaper option over an income tax cut when the public are crying out for more help with public services.

This won’t satisfy the party or the public and I can see it backfiring like the last one did. With any luck we’ll see the polls drop below 20% for this wretched lot.

They are well and truly out of ideas. Time for a General Election.

The UK is suffering a slow death , it started decades ago when we could not longer invade other countries for resources and contnued when we stopped
manufacturing aything remotely exportable, which of course has now been compounded wth Brexit and the withering of trade into the EU

Escape while you can, albeit that escape route has ben minimalized by the end of freedom of movement

How many times will Hunt, the **** say “putting money in people’s pockets”. Even though, hardly anyone uses actually cash, and whatever you save from NI will go nowhere, due to sky high energy prices, petrol/diesel that is still very expensive, and food which is still much higher now that two years ago.

Meanwhile, local authorities are struggling due to 14 years of underfunding, and other public services on the brink.

By the way. Has anyone attempted to phone HMRC lately? I literally cannot get through. Spent twice Monday on hold for 55 and 60 minutes without anyone answering. It was the same last week too.

I did see something last week that Labour think the tories may get rid of non dom status to fund the ni tax cut. This, essentially just removes that as an income stream for labour, unless Labour want to remove the ni cut.

The answer is a simple one really. Close all tax loopholes and use that for civic funding. The problem is that isn't a quick fix.
