Nathan Wood

He never grasped his opportunity when he was here. His brief appearances were average, and he did nothing when he went on loan.

Not sure what we were to do last summer......not a left footed CB so......

Good luck to the lad, but cannot see Arsenal/Spurs level 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

He did exceptionally well on his debut away at Bristol City. For me Warnock should have kept him in the team from then.

Flogged him for 200k. Sh!te business from the club. Tavernier well under priced too.

We need to make sure Isaiah Jones, Coburn etc don't get flogged for peanuts too.

Don't think we had much choice did we? Was out of contract (or only 1 year left?) wanted first team football and we couldn't offer it.

The only way we kept him would've been to promise to play him most weeks, but nothing in his performances for us or out on loan suggested he was ready for that, or better than what we had.

Fair play to Swansea, they took a punt and offered him what we couldn't. Not sure why it clicked for him there, different tactics/manager or just a change of scenery? That's football, it happens.

Is that figure correct? The club didn't disclose a fee as far as I'm aware.

Gutted we sold him, wasn’t given the right chances. Bad loan spell up in Scotland. He would’ve been well suited to our system of playing it out from the back. Definitely the right move to Swansea, I believe Russell Martin was his manager at MK Dons? Best of luck to the lad, he couldn’t have made his debut at 16 if he had no talent, hope he makes it to the very top 🤝

He never looked convincing to me, but he was very young and wasn't able to secure a run of games in the side.

I hope we sold Wood for pennies because Swansea were skint, with the recompense of negotiating a substantial sell on clause.

He's alright on the ball, and Swansea play alright football, but Swansea ship a lot of goals, only three teams have conceded more.

He'll get a little bit of a pass on the goals (as in enough to be scouted), as he is playing for Swansea, and they aren't that great, but ultimately when they realise he's just as at fault for the goals as the rest, then they'll realise he's not good enough to play football and be able to defend, like most aren't.

To play CB in the prem you need to be able to defend, be fairly quick, and play football, and in that order, and he's a long way away from that, to me. He's sort of in a similar predicament to Fry, who's a better defender but he's also quite slow, and not great at playing the ball out, who was also quite like Ben Gibson. Loads of players in the champo have 1-1.5 of the 3 criteria needed, but very few have 2-3.
