Maybe Wood hasn't developed as everyone hoped he would, was involved very young but doesn't seem to have matured into the player we all hoped he would be.

How could he? he's been out on loan for six months. Prior to that he would of had to displace senior pros like Hall, McNair, Fry and this season Peltier, Bamba. He's never really broken through in tge sense that he's been a regular starter or had a place on the bench. He's had a handful of games spread over two and a bit years. So when exactly youve had the opportunity to make such a clinical assessment of him I really dont know

Well ideally he would of pushed on out on loan but he was nowhere the Hibs team which for me is a concern. He’s clearly not pushed on and improved the last couple of years. He needs a loan but he can’t have one unfortunately. It’s a shame as he’s nowhere near our side either

There was a spell under Warnock where he played a few games and he was struggling badly then too. It’s my opinion but I don’t think he is going to make it at the boro. I hope I’m wrong!

He never got a kick so how could he push on? I dont remember him ever playing two games in a row under Warnock tbh if Im wrong, fair enough but even two games in a row on what was a side with no confidence second half of last season isnt enough to judge a player. He played the full game for us today so even if just by default, you cant say he's nowhere near our side. Not spectacular today but neither was Gibson or Kokolo. Wood did better today than Hall would of; and Hall is someone even you and i could agree we've had the chance to assess
 
What today showed is he is not in contention for a 1st team spot yet.
He needs to get his head down , get fitter by playing for our u23 team and work on his pace and awareness which was put to the test today by decent players at that level. He is 19 year old, let's cut him some slack and help him become the player our academy thought he would become.
Time will prove if he can make it, it's now up to him and his determination .
I think he will come back stronger for next season and save us a fortune.

The question is why didn’t he get a kick? That’s the point i am making. What is a miss?

He didn't, he played at home to Barnsley in the league cup, 2-0 loss, had a poor game in Sept 20. A month later he started a 1-0 home win against Forest and played well. Was part of a real makeshift back 4 at Brentford in the cup, 9th Jan, 2-1 loss. Played in the 3-0 loss to Rotherham and had a bad game in Jan 21.

He played 4 games spread over about 5 months, played ok in 1, well in another and poor in 2. He was 18 at the time.

I dont know. Do you? I dont follow scottish football but there are plenty of reasons why he didnt. Maybe they had a settled system and no injuries. Maybe one of their own players broke through. All conjecture and nothing to do with Wood or his ability
 
Send him out to Hartlepool- if they would want him. A manager who knows him well.

I must say the fact he hasn’t kicked on from his appearances at junior levels is both disappointing and a worry. He needs to listen, learn and put these things into practice.

He is not even 20 Diego and you have him out already. Wow! Wood has represented England at U15, U16, U17 and U18 level. He is a young man who one day more than likely be captain of Middlesbrough. Give him some time. It was only last year that Fry was been given the boot as useless.

It’s just an opinion, I hope he proves me wrong but I think we need to stop going overboard with him because what he’s done with England at young age group. Let’s get him a loan move next season at a club and hopefully he plays games. If he doesn’t it’s start to ask the question why
