Name a place you have visited that never lived up to the hype.

Brighton - tacky and dirty.
Canberra - an 8 hour round trip from Sydney to see some modern Government Buildings.
Tunbridge Wells - The Pantiles are not worth the drive.

Brussels was nice for a weekend but the greatness of the beer was matched by the sh1teness of the food, unless you want fries 3 times a day.
Why anybody would drive 8 hours inland to go to Canberra. 😂 Especially when a few hours up and down the coast from Sydney you have beautiful bays and towns.

Tunbridge Wells has never been a destination place. It just harbours angry Bumpton- Trumptons and posh Karens who write constantly to the Daily Telegraph and Times.

Old Wembley. Maybe biased by the disappointments we had there but it wasn't a good experience at all. Never been to the new one.

Niagara Falls - not the actual falls but the tacky, horrible town next to it. Appartently even worse on the US side of the river.

Central London Hotels. Unless you pay a fortune they are terrible.

Just finished a road trip around NSW and I have to say Canberra didn't even enter my head.

Beautiful part of the world though, I can understand why so many want to live here.

San Francisco is a place I wanted to love and Haight-Ashbury & The Filmore, for all it's causalities and shabbiness, were magical. The sheer number of homeless people down-town was desperately sad and not what I'd hoped for in a city that I thought would be utopia. Knocks spots of New York though.

What was it about the world class hotels, restaurants, unlimited entertainment and amazing swimming pools and parties you didn't like ?
The constant need to overcharge for everything including having to pay for breakfast when you’ve booked for bed and breakfast and the need to take £1500 out if my bank in case I didn’t pay for said breakfast was just the start of a bitter experience

Sounds like you had a problem with a particular hotel rather than Vegas?

It is weird how some places are so marmite.
New York, Las Vegas, Venice, London seem perhaps the most stark contrasts.

Yeah, and I can sort of get why say Vegas or Venice are, because they're relativley small and "samey'.

However NYC and London have something for everyone, and unless you dont like big cities (in which case why go?) then I cant see how you'd fail to find something you love in either city.

Beamish museum worst place for a school trip ever what a dull place.
Metro centre why walk miles for bog standard shops.
Norwich not half as nice as Alan partridge makes it out to be.
