Musical Guilty Pleasures You Don’t tell Too Many About

Like a few have said already, I don't think there is such a thing as a guilty pleasure when it comes to music, it's just that subjective. However, bands/artists I like who nobody would probably expect me to are:

Creed
Chris Isaak
Simon & Garfunkel
U2
Underworld
Lighthouse Family
Moby
The Police
Stereophonics
REM
The Byrds
Don McLean
Chris Rea
Crash Test Dummies
Creed is probably the worst I’ve seen mentioned so far! I’m a big Stereophonics fan too if they’re seen as a guilty pleasure, loved them since Word Gets Around. Nothing at all wrong with REM either, great band.

Haha, it was more a list of artists people wouldn't expect me to enjoy rather than 'guilty' pleasures. Yeah Creed are a very untrendy band to like, especially if you're a metalhead. I'm past caring these days though, I think it's a massive shame to restrict yourself to certain bands/artists/genres just for fear of someone taking the pizz out of you. Oh and I too love the song 'Wired for Sound' :)

Take your pick.......Showaddywaddy, Dollar and Aha are the three I never mentioned to anyone. I still don't quite get the Dollar like, even after all these years...

A few that spring to mind

Gene Pitney & Marc Almond (somethings gotten hold of my heart)

Simply Red (new flame)

Vanessa Carlton (1000 miles)

Blink 182 (miss you)

Dollar were exquisitely produced by Trevor Horn, a specialist in turning sow's ears into silk purses.

Cliff Richard's 'Wired for Sound'. I wanna hate him but that song smacks me in the gut... and I won't know why!!!!

Im the same with his rendition of O' little town (christmas song). Everything about it says i should hate it but it goes on the mix every year. Wouldn't be Christmas without it now.

The first three David Essex albums.
But when you have Chris Spedding, Herbie Flowers and Barry De Souza as your backing band, The Real Thing doing background vocals and the tracks produced by Jeff Wayne, its always going to be half decent.

Indeed. Only discovered this myself by listening to Marc Riley on 6Music. He played "Rock On" which is top quality.

I'm one of the swifties i guess  some great songs in her back catalogue. However for the purposes of the question i guess Katy Perry

What about 'We don't talk anymore' and 'Carrie' both worth a foot tap...........
