Music

Hello erimus my mate, I'm not in to NS as much as you, Mrs erimus11, or my brother but there are some great NS records out there 👍

Not everybody's cup of tea but I love a bit of Doo Wop and this is my favourite song with Den Haggerty singing Bass and Bob Fish singing the lead.

Try and sing it:)

Dear when you smiled at me, I heard a melody
It haunted me from the start
Something inside of me started a symphony
Zing! Went the strings of my heart
'Twas like a breath of spring, I heard a robin sing
About a nest set apart
All nature seemed to be in perfect harmony
Zing! Went the strings of my heart

I still recall the thrill, guess I always will
I hope 'twill never depart
Dear, with your lips to mine, a rhapsody divine
Zing! Went the strings of my heart
Dear when you smiled at me, I heard a melody
It haunted me…

Joan Armatrading's one of my lifelong favourites and I loved Elkie Brooks even more than I used to when I discovered she distributed Humphrey Lyttleton's ashes over the South Coast at his request. And Dan Hagarty had a great bass tone. I've been playing this a lot today. It's drive and intensity make me think it's possibly the first

heavy metal tune

without the distorted guitar.
