Muniz, Hoppe, Forss, Watmore

Was Armstrong ever an option?
Probably Southampton's version of Akpom. If they could get some good signings in up front then they'd replace him. Probably impressed in training/pre-season as he has started some games. If they can't replace him then he will stick around. Could still become available.

My first analysis would be are the forwards worse, better or the same as last year.

Out

Sporar
Connolly
Balogun
Ikpeazu (half season)

In

Muniz
Forss
Hoppe
Akpom (as never played for us last season)

Its very early days, but the new lot collectively look a bit better than the top lot but not dramatically so.
If Coburn plays for us this season I think he will be better than last season with another year under his belt.

Thre is the money for another forward to be brought in yet.

As posters have said Armstrong was never available.

What does stand out is that its a young collection of forwards .

It would be a pretty impressive feat if we could replace such a dreadful set of forwards with one that is even worse so I would assume that this year's are better. That is irrelevant though, we're not after better than last season, we're after good enough for a promotion team. We need them to be very good.

I am happy with the ones we have brought in so far but that will change i we don't bring in someone else. I'm hoping the best of the bunch hasn't signed yet then we have the exciting young loan prospect in Muniz, a few developmental strikers in Forss & Hoppe and the experienced deputies in Watmore and Akpom. I would be much more confident if we can get someone that has regularly scored goals at our level or better.

Not seen Muniz play, so what will he bring to the team that will make us more of a threat, while improving us as a team?

More of a physical striker so we can expect the ball to stick up top a lot more than it has done and will allow Forss to run in behind so theoretically should be a good partnership. I expect Muniz to start on Saturday and hopefully score

As odd as it seems to say it we definitely missed Chuba on Saturday! It'll be a shame if he gets off loaded now.

Cheers diego, yes agree, he'll have had a weeks training with the team & should start, registered No989

My First analysis.

The second would be are the good enough for promoted team - its too early to tell.

So far this season the bigger problem has been stopping the opposition from scoring.

I don't the issue is, or will be with our strikers. It's our centre mids that concern me. Solid, but not much creativity in there, and we'll be knackered if Jones or Giles get injured.

We need Larson, then sell Akpom (not good enough as a target man, not good enough as a finisher). If we get Larson, I think we an go up. With the current selection, play-off failure at best.

The addition of Jakobsen or Larsen would make a big difference to our forward line although I think our main problem is in CM as I see it

The 20 ish minutes I've seen of Hoppe made me think he's as thick as pigsh1t. The 2 decisions he made against Reading were extremely poor.
Deciding to take a touch when 8 yards out instead of smashing into the net.
Pushing over a defender who was going nowhere deep into stoppage time.
