My dad a steel worker lives in dormanstown. He understand dormnastown better than somebody who’s dropped in there or moved away

But does he understand what is required to make Dormo a better place? Investment? Regeneration? Outside funding?

Does he have the business acumen to make anything happen?


I’m not saying Andy has these things necessarily, but I don’t see “living in the area your whole life” as a qualification for anything

He knows what the people want, and what’ll make them happier.

I live on the wheatlands ward. I won’t be voting Labour for one candidate because he lives in marske. He just wants to be a councillor he doesn’t care where that is. I know this cos I heard him talking on a train. From what I heard he just likes the politics game that happens locally.

Personally people should live in the ward they want to represent, for my vote locally that’s a qualification criteria

You don't see that understanding an area and it's people is a good start if you want to serve them?

Marske is hardly a millions miles away from Wheatlands ward. He could walk there in five minutes.:unsure:

he’s from Teesside originally isn’t he, and sometimes a fresh pair of eyes is a good thing. Labour has served the area poorly, an independent is a good thing politically.

I live in the and Never voted Tory have you?. and I’m an old member from years ago, account reactivated. I stopped voting in 2010 but may vote at the general election to get rid of this lot. However it’s Hobson’s choice, greedy tories or ineffectual labour. Either way we’re stuffed.
