Just read his interview from the Hartlepool Mail. I wonder why we were so keen for him to leave. Was it money or personal? He lays bare that Warnock wasn't involved. Mentions a new direction and the DoF.

Interesting stuff.

I thought that he was a good signing for us, and that he would replace Howson as our go to midfielder for a few seasons to come. Anyway, with players coming in, there must be players moving out as well.

I was suprised Warnock wanted shot. It maybe appears he had nothing to do with it. He seems very much 'his type'.

I can't believe it was financially. We would maybe have got money back and as only cost around 1mil
I doubt he would be on big wages (compered to others).

Just seems odd. No financial gain and basically 'one in and one out' in a area we were short.

"I don't want to sell you but them upstairs say I've got to balance the books"

TBH it sounds like flannel/excellent man management from Warnock to Morsy which Morsy has believed, as I don't believe Warnock would agree with a Director of Football selling a player that he hadn't signed off the transfer on.

I would say NW did not want Morsey to go, my guess it was to balance the books financially. I assume a free agent left back or wing back type will be brought in still.

I 100% believe that Warnock would not have let a player go without his blessing. I can believe it was for financial reasons but my guess he was asked which player would have to be sacrificed.

"The 29-year-old says his switch wasn’t down to manager Neil Warnock: “Basically it was a decision from upstairs really, a decision over him."

But finally if Morsy didn't want to go he doesn't have to, but he did.

If we could have only got rid of the others BA AF etc so easily

I think it's a pretty simple situation really, we've brought in a player that they believe is better so they've moved him on to balance the books.

I have concerns the squad is still on the small size, numbers wise. I tend to think 25 players for a promotion push nowadays in the Championship. It depends how lucky on injuries a team is, but you have to budget on 6 players been not available. We had 3 out before a ball was kicked and another definitely carrying an injury.

We've got 26 players right now, though Fisher is obviously a long term injury.

We're at 24 if Ameobi is out all season too.
