Morgan Rogers

He's a class act and I won't have anyone telling me otherwise. He's come on loads since he was with us but you could see it at the time. You could see he was going to be a prem level player. He's just done it a bit faster than I was expecting.

I wonder if we have a champions league clause in the sales contract? Is that even a thing?

We saw the raw quality and he developed in his short time here Villa and Unai in particular noticed what he could do for them. As a Villa fan it was always gonna be the case he’d go but we got a fair deal at the time, we expect to collect the balance of his add ons I read this season.

Let’s hope he goes on to the very top, i think he will he is in the same quality as a Palmer (Cole not Carlton). We have some great potential at the club now, Carrick has to deliver this season with the tools given but definitely next season as a must.

He was head and shoulders our beat player at the time, however the blokes behind us thought he was gash 🔔🔚s
I agree with @BigAl76 that he's gone to be a very good player and he's certainly got the footballing world talking about him but I wouldn't have him down as a top Boro player. He only made 26 league appearances and I'm not sure how many of them were from the bench.

The best thing he did for us was finance our promotion push.

Edit: What I would add, maybe it is Kieran Scott who should get the praise and not Morgan.

He's improved markedly and a much better and effective player than he was at Boro. Is that because he is playing with better players or more confidence - probably a bit of both. A startling rise nonetheless.
You could see him improving here but the rate he's accelerated whilst at Villa is unbelievable. I would put it down to him being released by City and getting a wake up call. He's obviously got a point to prove and he's taken his chance with both hands and proving all his doubters wrong. Playing with better players also helps.

Remember you saying you would take 4 mil at the time 🤣

@Diego this was my take and that of many others during the Millwall game and then at the end he pulls the ball out of knowhere and plays a quality pass to Forss. Below are posts from page 17 & 18 from the link below.

He's a creative talent not everything he tries comes off, even now for Villa but some of the stuff he can do not many players in world football can do. The power when dribbling is scary and he just shrugs defenders off him. When he's in full flow he's a joy to watch.

Absolutely love watching him play.

I remember the Millwall game that I've copied post from how frustrating Rogers was to watch. He continually made the wrong choice and no one could have argued if he had been taken off.

He certainly proved a lot of his doubters wrong.

To be honest I didn't rate him until December and I don't think the people at MFC rated him enough to start him until December. Once LL signed Rogers didn't play much and was behind Coburn in the pecking order.

You could see even during his earlier performances that he had the attributes to potentially become a great player, the issue was that he appeared very raw and was making poor decisions.

He's clearly learned from his mistakes and is improving game by game. As I said on another thread, don't be surprised if we see him and Morris lining up together for Man City in a few years time.
