Morgan Rogers

A lot of the things that need improvement in his game will only come with experience of playing in matches. A little Catch 22 but this is where it is up to him to be his very best in every opportunity he is given.
I really like him and hope that he becomes a regular fixture in the team.

He’s very strong upper body strength he’ll be an absolute beast once he gets into a rhythm as he’s still young but the potential is there.

I get your point, but he’s actually closing in on 100 career apps 😮

Right now, I think Rogers and Silvera are the equivalent of top League One players. They've shown in the cup that they are a class above most defenders below Championship level. I was looking at the League one top goals & assists table and surprised to see Jordan Rhodes still doing the business there. At this point I reckon Rogers and Silvera are a match for anyone in that list and are still young. The two POSH wingers look like decent prospects.

At this point, I reckon Silvera could go on to be a decent Championship winger. Rogers looks like he could make it to the Premier league if everything goes right for him.

This is the main concern for me. Loads of potential but he needs to quickly cut out the sloppiness and become the finished article before you start to wonder whether he ever will.
Like you say, he's had plenty of senior appearances (79) similar to Hackney and Coburn but looks miles behind them in terms of development. He's a year older than Josh as well.

He's probably got this season and next to prove he's up to the level.

Bags of potential. Good technician and an excellent finisher. Needs to work on the tactical and positional side of his game (he is still young) but I think he's another one whose value will rise over his time with the club.

He probably is behind Hackney, but that's not surprising as Hackney is one of the best prospects in the entire league and one of the best young players I've ever seen playing for us. I don't see any evidence he's miles behind Coburn, as much as I like Josh.

I think Rogers is better than top level league 1. He is more like a lower to mid level championship player with lots of scope for improvement.

He was exactly what the recruitment team thought he was. Started 8 games in the championship and scored 1 and assisted for 3 goals.

I think he's behind Josh in terms of being up to the pace of the game and football IQ. In terms of ability, he probably has more potential to unlock than Josh.
I'd rather see Josh's name on the teamsheet than Rogers' right now though.

Hackney is obviously streets ahead in terms of ability and readiness. But like you say, he's the best player to come out of the academy in a long time and has the potential to be the best that has ever came out of it.

I think he is good pals with Archer. Grew up together playing for junior sides in the West Midlands. Archer tweeted Rogers when he joined saying he was going to a great club or something like that
Hence, the mimicry of the trademark 🏹 (y)

Last Christmas I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to MORGAN ROGERS 🎶

With a depleted squad, he could only manage a place on the bench most weeks, with Crooks, Greenwood & Jones preferred to start by Carrick.

Did well tonight, as he did against Bradford in the cup, but that's his level for now, against League 1 and League 2 teams he looks good, but against better defenders he looks lost and often over plays the ball.

When we start getting our injured players back, Forss, O'Brien, McGree, Hackney, then I don't think he will be anywhere near the starting line up.
This is absolute rubbish. 😂

He has said himself he is learning all the time, I wouldn't be surprised if in his mid 20's he was a regular starter in a top premiership team, he's got a few years to go and I just hope we can be with him on that journey as I do a few other players we have.

He's a year older than Josh as well.
He's a few months older with a similar number of games played to be fair. Both are still raw but clearly have a lot of potential and are just missing the confidence and experience that regular games provide.

Easy to forget just how young some of our players are.
The squad goes from "grandad" who scored last night, to lads too young to get served in the Isaac Wilson 🍻
