Mono rail anyone?

it's just meant to give the impression of a progressive Tory led teesside....but as usual it'll just disappear into the ether and never happen.

This was talked about in the Thatcher/TDC era. I would say there isn't a hope in hell.

Would have made sense back then connecting towns and communities but now, our town centres are like ghost towns

No chance.
On the other hand if Teesside were in greater London - you would have trillions chucked at tunnel and tube / x-rail projects / canary wharf trams / jubilee line extensions......millions on Hammersmith Bridge, garden projects and goodness knows what - with bells on it!

Nothing will change - until Tees viaduct becomes structurally unsafe or the exchange Fly-over in Boro starts to crumble.
Make-do-and-mend as usual.

No chance.

Roofie to be fair, there’s prob a greater rate-of- return in the smoke for such projects

Very true. TDC wasted a fortune IMO, spending a fortune on vanity projects and statues to themselves rather than improving Teessider's lives.
