Interesting [FACT] Mishearing a lyric is known as a Mondegreen. So named because of the lyric “laid him on the green” being misheard as “Lady Mondegreen” from an oldish song.
Roller Disco, Roller Disco..Anyone got any to share?
When I'd first heard the Issiah Jones song I couldn't really make out what the words were at all, and thought it was "he sounds like Morrissey", instead of "makes the Boro sing".
Also, thought "All Leeds aren't we" was "Oh Leeds army", and "if you hate Leeds United have a go" was "if you ain't Leeds United time to go".
Not sure of your exact gripe with it here, but given your username, could that not be a regional thing?
Boro fans definitely sing different lyrics to more southerly clubs.
Football Clichés podcast made me aware of it, because they're all from the south or Midlands and used "we're by far the greatest team" etc.
I think our version is fairly unique, from what I can see.
