Featuring in the **** list charts yet again. Mayor of Middlesbrough on Kay Burley this morning discussing possible regional lockdowns as Mbro have highest infection rate in the country outside of London.

That’s the problem with being such a popular tourist attraction, people travel from miles around to visit the town and bring the virus with them. Oh hang on, I’m thinking of London, why on earth is the rate so high in Middlesbrough?

Just one infection reported on Teesside yesterday and that wasn't in Middlesbrough.

To be fair, with a lot of folk from Middlesbrough visiting other seaside towns and tourist attractions, you would think they would bring stuff back with them, and then spread it further.

If Middlesbrough was so bad why is James Cook starting to see less cases in ICU?

My daughter is a nurse. The place where she works has been shut down for the duration. The details of the staff were all passed on to James Cook Hospital but none of them have been called on.

Preston is a crook. Even now, for reasons known only to himself he is closing Albert Park daily at 11:45 am whilst Stewart Park is open until 4:30.

Barrow was very high - its gets a lot of contractors from all over the North which probably increased infections in early lock down. Its density of housing is also higher than Middlesbrough. The density of housing in the Middlesbrough council area is not as high as many people think. Most of the councils area is not terraced housing or 6 people plus in a 3 bed semi.

How To Do Politics: Part 1.

Create or exaggerate a situation and draw attention to it, create headline making policies and talk of the need for strong leadership and tough decisions, milk all publicity, because the situation is invented or exaggerated it can easily be made to disappear or controlled, claim success and repeat.....

In Politics, is there an alternative way ?

the only person in recent times who royally fouked it up was david cameron, not because he called the EU referendum, but because he didn't do the ground work to get the result as the nations prime minister he wanted.

I would like politicians to be like the best referee’s you don’t notice they are there most of the time and let the country flow but when the really big calls are needed they get them right, most politicians, nowadays, are more interested in promoting themselves and their brand rather than policies and their own performance at constituency level, I’m sure there are some out there but the nature of GB2020 is that the quietly competent are overshadowed by those with plenty of bombast and self recommendation.
