Middlesbrough Lockdown Confirmed

I don't live in the area Juninho, what level of lockdown is being implemented? I am assuming closure of pubs, restaurants and other social venues, gyms etc?

Apparently all social contact - except outside spaces (assuming this is parks) .... no sporting events, no household mixing

The mayor was on the news yesterday insisting cafes, pubs and restaurants stay open for the sake of peoples jobs

what area does the Middlesbrough lockdown cover, just Middlesbrough or the whole of Teesside
I think just the Borough Council region... so Stockton, Redcar, Billingham, etc are not included at the moment

Obviously I'm sure the Gazette/ BBC will confirm this

Preston got what he asked for. It was debated this week with all local authorities as to whether we should collectively seek an intervention from the Govt and Stockton and Redcar declined it. Middlesbrough wanted to go into a local lockdown, I can only assume thinking that they would acquire more finances to help battle it, but they won't. They've already had their share of the pie, so to speak.

Hartlepool held their hands up at the 11th hour and also sought an intervention. Now Preston is on social media asking for a more "relaxed" lockdown. What an absolute muppet. Feel sorry for the majority of Middlesbrough and Hartlepool residents who will inevitably be let down by the mindless minority as usual.

Bit awkward for us Billingham folk who are sandwiched between the 2. Surely we should be included

No indoor household mixing or non-essential travel

Mr Hancock confirms the new rules for the Liverpool City Region, Warrington, Hartlepool and Middlesbrough are as follows:

Recommendation against all social mixing between people in different households
Regulations to be brought in to prevent social mixing between different households anywhere apart from outdoor public spaces such as parks and outdoor hospitality settings
Recommendation people should not attend professional or amateur sporting events as spectators
Recommendation people only visit care homes in "exceptional circumstances"
And guidance against all but essential travel, such as going to work or school

I have been meeting up with a mate who lives in Middlesbrough having a couple of beers sitting well apart in his garden over the summer, not been in his house at all.

My understanding is that we are advised against this now?

Yet we can sit down the road in the Southern Cross sharing a room with a load of people we don’t know from Adam?

Correct me if I am wrong on this.

Looks like the wrong people have been put in charge yet again....

So Preston and his cronies ask for us to have a regional lockdown but not the pubs & restaurants and Hancock does that and does a Sturgeon (one step further) and puts it on the same rules as the rest of the North East.

What an absolute shambles.

P.s. The affected areas get part of a 7m pot ............. who'd have guessed !!
