I think he's an outstanding communicator, personally. What I like about him is he's fully focused when he's listening. He's calm, reflective and always seeks a positive interpretation of events. There's nothing fake about him or self-aggrandising; he's unfailingly modest.
But if the job requires fielding endless questions he's unable to offer a candid response to - such as about transfer dealings - or he's required to hold the company line, then it's natural he will resort to bland statements.

dont see the point of Pressers... nothing is really news and nothing is really decided .... If there is a transfer it is announced away from the Thursday pressers... Never watch them now

I have watched primarily to be informed, maybe secondly for entertainment.
I don't watch them any more either alanmoodysdog
 
Some of the questioners are knacker barrels (not Rob obvs). Reckon MC is pretty patient. He’s self confident enough not to be defensive and not to be always bigging himself up (like Dyche & Wilder etc.) also he’s not a narky so and so like Arteta n Klopp or a joe 90 like Eddie Howe
