Shows that he is still popular amongst the fans and isn't being blamed for a fairly rubbish season.

Interesting move by the club though, if we have a good transfer window but then start next season badly, the tide would probably turn on him and he'd be due a nice big pay off.

Well I don't disagree, but if we were languishing in the bottom 6 in November I dare say a fair few would be concerned.

Anyway, hopefully we'll have a good summer and some of last summer's buys start to really gel too.

Polite reminder to all: We won't sign anyone until mid-July at the earliest due to the Euros, so don't panic if we haven't got 6 new players through the door by the time Whit week is over.

They were announcing in the papers that very positive talks over a new contract had happened since late January/earlyFebruary.

It's been on the cards for ages.
