Michael carrick into 6/1 second fav

Open minded. Brilliant player, but he’s not the ‘chosen one’ of the best young coach/future brilliant manager at those clubs in the same way that Arteta and Vieira were - and they’ve both done great.

I don’t think Michael Carrick is attracting the same players that Wayne Rooney would.

I’d still go Corberan, Leo plus someone like Rosenior to do tactics, offer Rooney something good, or Hughton, in that order.

Well at least we know robins knows a striker when he sees one

Both gyokeres and he wasn’t too bad himself

Robins would be brilliant play nice football done a great job at Coventry with little money, but would be very surprised if he left Coventry for another Championship team

For what it's worth
I would like to see him given a stint at Boro
Think he would be a good fit between recruitment and the team
Yes he's a well respected coach, not a raw untried manager, 3 1/2 years coaching for Mourinho and OGS. A respected player, I'd expect him to have plenty of global contacts. Seems a decent guy, definitely not soft but doubt he would be the overly tough type that doesn't work well these days, he had a proper pro mentality, like Leadbitter. Plus he's from the north east, so location wouldn't bother him. Likes to play on the ground but not over play.

He's also available leaving United 6 months ago. Sure he's recharged and ready to get his teeth into a challenge.

I wouldn't be completely opposed to this but think I favour Edwards (just).

Has Ten Haag kept him on? Pretty big red flag if not.
not sure that would be a red flag, more a statement that you want to do things your own way. Very few first team coaches stay on when the manager is sacked.

I'm not pro or anti Carrick. I don't know enough about him to have an opinion but he is nothing like Robson in terms of status within the game. Robson was one of the most famous footballers in the World. He had been Utd's best player for 10 years. He was a celebrity and household name.

Carrick was a good player, probably under-rated but nowhere near the status of Robson. Rooney would be more comparable.

True but carrick is a players player as you say he was criminally under rated but those in the game regard him highly.
