Message from Chuba

Why is it on odds on?
Because we don't appear close to agreeing a new contract with him and the club won't want him to leave for nothing next summer, however much that may suit Akpom.

He's on Talksport soon so that may clear things up, or not!

Edit; the interview is connected to the EFL launch, so probably nothing other than the party line I guess.

I'm basing that on a few things; the fact that he hasn't signed a contract already and that it seems the club and agent are a way apart from agreeing figures.
But how do you know they are way apart from agreeing figures? Only Drury is saying that, and I've not seen any other media source. You're assuming Drury is telling the truth, which he may be - or not.

Whatever your views on Drury, good or bad, he was quoting what he's been told and that is without doubt someone at the club, I suspect the media department, by whoever it is knows it is likely to be broadcasted.
Risking his career as a journalist with the BBC by telling lies isny simply not plausible in my opinion.

And Chuba says that it was not true, so it doesn't matter where Drury got his information from, it boils down to who you believe.

The only news we need from Chuba, is if he is staying and signing a new contract 🤞 , if not, then we must sell him, we cannot afford him to run his contract down and talk to potential suitors in January.
I'm sure the club is working behind the scenes to have a final outcome this month.

To be honest, I got flashbacks of Martin Braithwaite's tweets after watching that.

Actions speak louder than words, and the longer this lingers on for without him signing a new contract, the more likely it will seem that he won't be here long-term, or even short-term.

That clip tells us nothing new, he is just being the nice guy we know he is.
He still might be going down the see the contract out and look at the best deal then, he might be close to signing a new contract, it could be a message to Boro that he is not interested whoever bids, it could mean all sorts, or nothing.

I mean, if he’s just recorded it, why’s he done it at the Stadium Of Light? 😂

That’ll have been recorded ages ago so I’m not sure it’s a response.
