Merry Christmas @Nobby_Barnes hope Santa brought you that Neil Warnock doll you wanted. Comes complete with tracksuit and if you pull the cord in his back you hear him say one of his classic phrases "the refs a w@nk£r", "Are you with me?"; and "Get them cones out Jepson you fat b@r$t@rd".Merry Christmas from Park End
That was a conversation between my brother and I this morning. Closely detailing an imagined walk from the Trunk Road lights up through Normanby to Flatts Lane then down the Lines and out through Teesville. It was great.Merry Christmas GS from your hometown of Normanby.
And a Merry Christmas to all you mooners wherever you are spending it.
I lived in Blantyre Road as a kid and our house backed on to the lines and Smith's Dock Park. I went down there for a walk the last time I was home and was amazed how much more overgrown the trees and bushes were on the lines and in the park. Couldn't even see my old house for the shrubbery and the trees in the park didn't look like they sis in my memory (and all the old pavilion buildings had gone). Sad times. That was a conversation between my brother and I this morning. Not sure when that was but earlier this year they cleared a lot of the shrubs and trees out and laid a tarmac path the full length of the lines. It is now a lovely walk and you aren't worried about punctures if you are riding along it on the bike.I lived in Blantyre Road as a kid and our house backed on to the lines and Smith's Dock Park. How far have they retarmacced? Last time I walked its length the nature changed once you walked under the Trunk Road bridge. The tarmac had been seriously damaged from what appeared to be a rash of burning mattresses. Not sure when that was but earlier this year they cleared a lot of the shrubs and trees out and laid a tarmac path the full length of the lines. I have only walked it to just before the bridge but believe they had funding to tarmac the full length. How far have they retarmacced? It was in the summer. I think the tarmacing had already been done then? Not sure when that was but earlier this year they cleared a lot of the shrubs and trees out and laid a tarmac path the full length of the lines. Edit: The Dock Park is now looked after by South Park Rangers and the lads do a great job for junior football at all levels.
