Maybe we need Dyche or Big Sam

We have to stick to the new model or else you might as well scrap the entire thing again, which we do seem to do on a yearly basis so it wouldn't shock me one bit.

Not sure Carrick is the man for the job though with the trouble we look to be in. Think I would rather Corberan, he would fit the model but also has the experience to get us out of this.

Was just about to post the same thing. We can't afford to gamble on somebody like Carrick in our current position.

It's depressing but I'd give it to Big Sam or Dyche until the end of the season. Let's stay up this season and rebuild next summer. There may be better managerial options available to us then as well.

Dyche or Big Sam might aswell say Pulis or Warnock

clueless fans
This is one of the worst squad of players we've ever had. Our recruitment team failed us massively AGAIN.

If we gamble on a rookie like Carrick I fear he could be Woodgate mark two and we could end up being in serious trouble this season.

My thinking entirely. I was willing to take a gamble on a progressive manager but we are in a relegation battle now and need someone to parachute in and keep us up. Players look uninterested, looks to be very little team spirit (constantly blaming each other today). Carrick or his ilk will take us down I think.

Why would Dyche come to a side at the bottom end of the championship with no money to spend after his success with Burnley? He will still get another decent job.

A big sam type is the last thing we need. Desperate for a long term manager who can actually work with these players

Two things a Sean Dyche team will be: hard to beat and horrible to play against.

Two things we are at the minute: easy to beat and easy to play against.

We probably need a long ball merchant of a manager given our non existent midfield.

Nice one Kieran Scott.

We need a manager who can communicate very simple instructions to players who are clearly struggling to play a match without losing concentration, losing shape and losing the ball.

It might not necessarily need long ball, just a manager who understands that and can deliver a concise message. A bit like when you might struggle at school and a good teacher could just show you a different way which worked best for you.

I think that was one of Karanka's great skills, knowing that not every player had his mindset, awareness and drive, so a few players had very simple, repetitive elements to their game in order to reduce the amount of mistakes they made.

We have to see the DoF model through. There has been too much investment in it to revert to the conventional approach of tried and tested managers who want their say on everything then move on. Thats why we were left with players on massive contracts that we couldn’t shift. We need to be brave because the current model will be the sustainable one.

I get that experience may be seen as an advantage. Looking at the bookies list, the only one that appeals to me with experience is Warburton, who might accept the structure we have, but Carrick has been a top player at top clubs, used to working under pressure and expectation and with the right number 2 I think will help build on the foundations that are going on behind the scenes. That and the £100 I will get from Victor.
