Matt Crooks.

40 odd games of champ football..
This season it's crooks over Silvera, Rodgers and greenwood on loan ..
It's a big boys league.,.. it's not u23s ..
As awkward as he looks to pretty eyes ,.

He'll score 1 in 4.5 . he'll be a threat in their box , and help us not be soft in ours , from set pieces.
His feet are better than his body looks, and he never goes " ahh well ... lost it , someone can sort that '
Also Jones loves playing in the same team

The ' projects ' need to learn what is required..

i have been critical of crooks at the same time think hes a top pro and glad hes here. Seems decent craic as well good for team morale.

He's a Championship professional with loads of goal involvements. A great player to have in the squad. He's limited in some ways but you know you are going to get 100% every week. He gets in the box. He's a handful for defenders.

I was surprised he signed a new contract mainly because I thought he would move to a bottom half Champ club where he was a first team regular. It turns he's managed to get himself a regular spot at the Boro after being more of an impact player last season. He seems the type of pro who would want to be starting and not happy sat on the bench
Plus he's a really nice fella....
I'm pleas d he's getting deserved recognition and credit.

As does Dijksteel when the three of them play together on the righthand side we have played some excellent stuff, I just hope dijksteel can come back and be consistent and injury free

Agreed. Although RVDB has really stepped it up in recent weeks so we can take our time with Dijksteel now.

I do agree though, it’s all about balance and those 3 work incredibly well together and have that understanding he be in tandem covering positions and making offensive runs.

As much as I was excited to have O’Brian in the middle having him on the left has allowed us to revert back to that style of play and hopefully Bangura can offer similar on the left.

I have always loved Crooks and defended him.
He is so much better than many seem to be able to see.
He is a very good footballer and a smashing bloke.
We are lucky to have him.
I hope he stays fit and keeps the cards down as he is miles better than any of the new forward signings. Rogers may mature into a competitor for the place, but is a distant sub now.

Did he say he was gash too! Remember someone behind me at Coventry two years ago telling me how useless Tavernier was!
I was at that game and I remember Tavernier had an awful game. Everyone seems to remember him with rose tinted spectacles, but he had some poor games.

The advantage of being a skilled coach with the trained eye and experience of top international and domestic football, is that he [and his staff] see what players do on and OFF the ball during games. They see application, determination and mentality in training. They see the critical role senior players play in the development and progress of younger players in a tight-knit squad. They take a holistic approach to assessing and managing players. As long as Michael Carrick and his staff believe that Crooksy has all those qualities and is contributing on match-days, I`m backing "Big Tree".
