Matt Crooks

I agree mart I’m not sure you’ve grasped what the thread was about really. I think as a fan base we’re all pretty much United he doesn’t fit into the side anymore due to the formation and the way we’re going. The point was more attacks on him personally calling him ***** and stuff before he’s kicked a ball, it’s not his fault he’s been selected by Carrick.
I grasp that mate, but that’s a problem for the Doyle Police, we can’t stop them chatting on here

Yeah it’s just a bit gutting to read when you can tell he’s such a good lad around the place and he has produced some really good moments for us.
He absolutely has, he’s honest, and clearly a big dressing room character. That’s something that shouldn’t under estimated. Personally im
Not against keeping him as a bench option but I think it’s drawing out the inevitable which is that he probably needs to move to a team that suits him better. He could get 12-14 goals for a side like qpr

I hope we can borrow him every pre season for his video diaries as part of any deal were it ever to happen. 🤣

I’d be surprised if it were true, but if it were, it would be nice if someone technically minded could set up a just giving page or similar, as a thank you from Boro fans toward the Jordan Sinnott foundation trust as a thanks for all your time at Boro and we could maybe be united with some of the other boards to publicise it?

Top bloke who's really bought into our club and gets it,be great to keep him as an impact sub as he should be nowhere near starting.
No sentiment in business though and if a deal presents itself that suits both parties we should sell and give him an outstanding ovation when he returns.

Love Crooksy and I'd rather he stayed as I think he's very good for the dressing room.

However, he shouldn't be a first teamer if we want to push on and if he does leave, then I wish him well.

So I’ve just been catching up on this.

The bloke doing the tweeting seems like a genuine ‘ITK’ given the number of QPR fans who are replying to him and seem to be believing him.

As for Crooks, it would bd a strange one given he signed the extensions recently, has been doing plenty of media etc.

I like him a squad player, someone who comes on when our usually style isn’t breaking a team down around 70 mins. But he shouldn’t be starting regularly in this Carrick team. I don’t like the criticism he gets but it’s going to keep happening if he keeps starting.

People directing it in the wrong place then. Should be to Carrick for playing a player that isn’t comfortable out of position

Im sure we can do that.
Good suggestion

Agreed

I’m not buying this view though that Carrick is playing him as the 10 to try and suss him out as not good enough like some seem to think

I seem to recall that the man laying claim to the 'Crooksy as a forward' masterstroke 🙄 last season was Woodgate. Fair play to Crooks when he was interviewed at the time he gently pointed out that although he'd played the position in the past he wasn't very good at it.
Carrick is the boss I hope we're not seeing undue influence from other quarters (Coulson's contract comes to mind as well).

Matt Crooks is a good egg. He's also a decent footballer who's been very good for us and provided some great moments over the past few seasons.

He's also not what we need right now, and whilst his willingness to fill in here there and everywhere is laudable, that doesn't really change things long term.

Dunno what else I want to say here really, other than that criticism isn't always malicious.
