Matt Crooks

Not if you look at his record it isn't.
7 last year, which isn't bad but not spectacular. Of course it was a for a lowly team, I don't really care what he does at a lower level because it isn't relevant to how he does in the champo. It doesn't always transfer...the Nicky Bailey effect.

Last season Buendia got 15, Powell got 12, season before Eze got 14, and before that you had Hourihan 11, Cairney 12, Alan Judge 14 etc.

I think we get excited at any midfielder at Boro that gets more than 5, because we've been so anemic as an attacking side for a decade. It's a decent enough start from Cooks, and he offers a lot more than just the goals he has scored, and if can keep it up for the season then, yeah he might be in that goalscoring midfielder category for me.

note he had 6 league goals at this stage last season, he got 1 goal in his last 20 games for Rotherham to end up with 7. He has to keep this standard up
Bit of a difference doing it for a relegated Rotherham than it is for a team pushing for play offs. We will and are creating more. 7 is a respectable number in that side. He’s a goal scoring midfielder Mart who has lots of attributes to his game.

It is, and fair play to him, because it isn't always possible to go from a big fish in a small pond....you know the rest

Studs high on the challenge but no contact made, you do see them given but the ref was stood right over the challenge and decided yellow

Could easily have been a red that, his studs were showing and his foot off the ground, he didn't make contact though. I think he'd have gone if the ref had sent off Tom Lawrence (like he should have).

I think he must have some sort of telepathic link with Isiah he seems to read his intentions better than anyone else.
