Mass gathering of fans outside of Trafalgar Square, for or again it?

Trafalgar Square before the last play off final was amazing, the boro fans were in fine voice and they were in fine voice and the whole day was fantastic day of the final too.. right up until the match kicked off and Boro just weren't at the races. If Boro had turned up that day it would have been magic, everything about the day other than the match was a great experience.
It affected the atmosphere in Wembley though. Norwich totally outsung us. To many hangovers and bad heads. Not sure if that had much of an effect on the players but the crowd was dull.

Not my kinda thing. In all the times we've been to Wembley I've never bothered going to the gathering at Trafalgar Square but each to their own. I don't have any isdues with people gathering and partying the night before to add to the sense of occasion.

Oh I’m sorry, I assume your “draconian war on gatherings” was a joke?
I wish it was the police only have to think you’re “causing a nuisance“ to arrest you. That’s the trouble all the sheep thought this was just targeted and some tree huggers and geriatrics blocking the M25!

It seemed it to me. Very muted crowd compared to the other end

Maybe as the game wore on and we were 2 goals down but that wasn't the case earlier in the game. An hour before the game our end was already more than half full, there'd been a campaign to get the fans in early and build the atmosphere pre match. By contrast the Norwich end was pretty empty until close to kickoff.

I know loads of hungover people and they were signing right through the game, I think people are looking for reasons why we lost rather than the glaringly obvious.

I'm not looking for reasons no, just noting my observations. It deifnetly felt flatter in our end than it should be and the Norwich fans were defo singing for longer

Pity the team didn't turn up early too.

They were 2-0 up 15 mins in. Compare and contrast the atmosphere next time boro go 2-0 early doors in an important match.

We were 2-0 down after 15 minutes and it totally deflated us, until that point we'd been great. No-one was hungover by that point, everyone I know and me included was fully back on it.

Drunk, hungover, or sober, being 2-0 down after 15 minutes and playing like we did would knock the wind out of any fans. If we had gone 1-0 up first or even kept it at 0-0 it would have been a totally different story.

What people did the night before the match in London didn't make a bit of difference.

I would disagree. Just what I saw. I would say some need to reign it in a bit the night before is all
