Martín Payero

He may well be a good player but I dont see him having any positive effect as he would have to play with 2 of either Howson, Crooks or Mcgree. If we had him in front of Leadbitter and Clayton then I could see the advantages.

Great point. One player can’t do it alone. I really had high hopes for McGree this season but his shooting is awful and his first touch is always heavy.

Yeah, really surprised that Celtic saw something in him as their recruitment seems decent. That said the opposition up there is pretty poor. Not really sure what he’s bringing to the party at the minute.

He looked decent in the limited time we saw him last year. Had vision and a decent range of passing. We seem to coach quality out of players. Muniz is heading that way now (although he is feeding off scraps)
 
Bring Ramirez back on a short-term deal, sign a defensive midfielder, and recall Payero.

I'm sure Payero would find it easier settling here with us having 4 South Americans at the club 😉

Miles off the pace, but crooks, mowatt McGree aren't 😂😂

Laughable. He had more vision to play a forward pass than either of those for a start, you could see that within ten minutes. Technically good too.


Did he need time to adjust? Sure.

Maybe, just maybe, if he'd have just been given a full season he may have been settled by now, just like so many south American signing who struggle in their first year in English football.

I got sick of defending him on here.

was he good enough who knows but he wasn’t given a chance to prove it it either way.

But make no mistake there’s a player there.
