"Marquee Signing"

I noticed he said - The reason we’ve gone deep in is we believe something good will pop up.

So hmmm 🤔

He's levels above anything we've had for years, you can just tell pretty much straight away from his movement and strength.

Different type of player but must be best since Bamford? I'd say that counts as marquee nowadays for us.
I instantly thought sh it, wish we'd signed him on a permanent and used the 8 mill we've been offering for others. If he does well and we go up he costs us 20 million. Does well and we don't go up he goes back to Fulham and replaces Mitrovic.

If our marquee signing is another striker as good as Muniz then we’d have a ridiculous strike force at this level.

I know, it doesn't sound like we agreed an option to buy as part of the loan deal so can't see him staying.

If we go up it will be because he's scored a load of goals so as you say, Fulham would want probably 25mill + and as he's never done it in the PL then that would be a massive gamble for us - not saying he couldn't but you never know.

Im probably in the minority here, but I would he concentrates on the team of players he has now & not bring anyone else in

Strikers, surely we have enough to score goals, i just feel Wilder, or the media, are pulling names out of a hat & hope they'll be the answer, the keepers are stronger than last season, but for some reason & with potentially 2 very good defensive CH's brougbt in, we look so weak & vunerable

Jones is not upto speed, his defensive side is good, attitude excellent, but he's struggling with his forward play, understandable considering his age & the level he's performing at, Giles is our new Jones at the moment, if, we have a fully functioning Jones we'll be a major threat

CW came in & picked up the club with some excellent displays, but even then we got batteted a number of games & now one win in the last how many games since Chelsra cup exit

When he replaced NW, who for me & im a big fan of his, wasnt working & said back then, I hope CW is here a long, long time meaning he's doing the business on the pitch

September is a big month for Wilder, we should know by the end of the month what the future holds & what direction we're heading in

It just seems we're in a similar situation to Bruce Riochs final season, bringing players in, one of the bookies favourites to go straight back up but fought a relegation battle all season

One thing to remember is we are propped up with loans, whatever happens we need to find this year as well as next year. I cant see us going up this year tbh although would love it, but we'll need new loans or perm signings for the positions we've filled

The marquee was for when it rains at the fan bar. Bausor is hoping to get it over the line from AFC Argos in time for Winter.

For as long as I can remember we always seem to fail at the final hurdle in the transfer window on deadline day - lots spoken about but usually closes with a dull ending. I believe we are really close and if the owner / recruitment team can bring in the suggested three extra players then we will stand as good a chance as any in this league. Let’s just hope we can get them across the line in the remaining hours.

Hope we don't go for a "marquee signing".

Excitement, buzz, prestige: none of this should matter when signing a player. All that should matter is improving the team within the budget. If a player can do that AND create a buzz, all well and good, but otherwise let's keep away from the marquee circus.
