Margaret Simmonds died days away from her 77th birthday. All her adult life, she only missed a home game when she was recovering from surgery - having survived both lung and bowel cancer.
She's due to be buried on Thursday (July 6) at St Alphonsus Church North Ormesby after being driven one last time to the Boro ground and back dressed in a Boro strip and her trademark red beret, while mourners have been asked to wear red and white. Morrison's Berwick Hills have kindly made up a red and white wreath for us (three school pals) for half price
Margaret lived in Berwick Hills and attended St Alphonsus primary school followed by Newlands Convent Grammar School.
