Southampton had been in the Premier League for 11 seasons when they were relegated and bounced back at the first time of asking.

I don't think it's much to do with attempting to bridge the gap.

They've spent more time in the Premier League in the last 5 years than Bournemouth have.

Bournemouth look to have recruited some decent players and they are no pushovers at home. I particularly like Semenyo who is an absolute beast and knows where the net is.

Southamptons side looks underwhelming. Not sure how Stewart and Diaz get ahead of Cameron Archer.

Southampton look pretty shoddy at the back too. They weren’t great at the back last season but they had the firepower to out score a lot of sides. Can’t quite do that in the PL. up against much better opposition.

Martin will be lucky to be in the job by January would be my guess.
