Marcus Tavernier is

I will hold my hands up. I think he has been poor for a good while but has been excellent in the last few games. Long may it continue. Some people seem to think that if you slag a player you have an agenda. No agenda. Would love not to slag Tav for the rest of the season. Come on Tav. Keep it up

He had a very noticeable dip in form, lot of players would have been dropped but Wilder persevered with him; fair play he's come out of the other side playing extremely well. All the ".....sell him for £10m" talk has thankfully stopped too👍

Exactly this, has been off the boil for a while but there's a difference between not playing well and being a bad player

No coincidence that as we've started playing better football he's come into his own

He’s repaying the faith Wilder paid in him now. I thought he could have done with a game on the bench, a time out to reset and get back to basics but he’s come through his dip in form and has been fantastic lately.
Even in his dip, he never hid and always gave 100 %. Really glad to see he’s hitting great form now. Was excellent again today.

I have been a huge critic of him last year and this year under warnock. Mainly because I didn’t think he worked hard enough in the formation we played.

Today, I actually thought he was MotM, and I credit that down to Wilder and Tavernier finally showing commitment that his talent deserves.

I was keen to see how he played at Man U, and I’m convinced he would do well in the Prem

I think its fair to say he has been up and down this season. If he performs this consistently for the rest of the season he wont be a championship player next year. Hopefully with us.

Much improved over the past few games. I’m yet to be convinced that he’s capable of playing at a higher level than the Championship like some suggest.

Ons of the best all round central midfielders in the league.

Wonder if the boo boys on here will hold their hands up and admit they got it wrong?

Who was the poster who gave a minute by minute account of the 7 times he gave the ball away one match 😂
He’s played better this week - can still be critical got caught in possession and missed easy passes today by holding on to the ball too long on about five occasions Get that right and he will be what you say he is. Oh and chip in with some goals.

I will admit that I did doubt him. Not his work rate but his decision making. He’s a great grafter. I was saying to a lad behind me that the last few games he has done the simple things really well. Consistently. He just picks an easy pass or passes his man then lays it off.
I think that the fact Connelly put a shift in today helped him out a lot and Taylor has recently been pushing forward more which all means tav doesn’t have to run up and down between defence and attack like a headless chicken.
Well done Tav.
Now let’s get him a song.
