Marcus Tavernier is pushing for a Premier League move this Summer..

..reports TalkSport.

They've suggested Bournemouth are looking more likely to step up their interest than Nottingham Forest for the Boro man.

Lost me at Talksport.......😁😁

Sounds like nefarious tactics from clubs/agents at best, completely rehashed bollox from TS at worst.

£20m we'll listen.

As a player if u have a chance to play in the prem your going to take it.If Boro get 12m plus go for it find a replacement.

I'm not sure I'd be 'pushing' to join Bournemouth or Forest even if they are (briefly) in the Premier League. If one of the established clubs come in for him (Everton were also linked) then that's a different story but we'll see.

He’s at a championship club with 12 outfield players. He’s probably pushing alright. I would be.

Playing in the championship is almost anonymous. Playing and standing out for a lower end PL team can do far more for a career/bank balance than doing well in the championship. If he has the belief in himself that he can stand out then why wouldn't he give them a go.

If someone matches our valuation and gives them the chance to play in the PL on PL wages then anyone would go.

Even if they get relegated he'll be back to where he is now at the least (but on a much higher wage).

A lot of touchy people commenting here! Deary me.

I heard a report on TalkSport and reshared it. I didn't say he's going, I didn't say I've just seen him doing cartwheels along Bournemouth seafront in a Cherries shirt.

It's been widely reported that we've turned bids down already, and £10,000,000-£15,000,000 for a Premier League club is a drop in the ocean, so do I think it's possible? Yes. Do I know that he wants to leave? No I don't.

If there was truth in this, I personally believe the money could be reinvested easily.. I don't think he's irreplaceable and think for the money received we could get someone of equal ability, and then some.

If we sell tav we may as well pack in now and settle for mid table. Cant see Wilder sticking around if his best players are being sold.

Yes we may have granted tav the option to leave after we asked him to stay for 1 more season last year but surely the club comes first we cant afford to lose anybody let alone one of our best players.

like our success in signing strikers? Sorry, terribly elementary reasoning

Nobody being touchy, the responses are not personal.......more aimed at Talksport being so wide of the mark more often than not.

Can’t fault him if he wants to go. Like I’ve said before it’s no different than us signing a player from league one. Why is it ok for us to sign someone in that league to offer them a better career, but not alright for a prem team to buy one of our players.

But like everyone has said the money needs to be right for Gibbo

We need sustainability, if that means selling at peak value then so be it, it's all about how we reinvest the money to improve the squad.

I think the opposite. I think if we sell Tav to fund an Armstrong or two strong championship level midfielders we will have a far greater chance of going up than we have at the moment. People need to re read the mid season threads on Tav when he had 8 to 10 very ropey performances. He definitely isn’t the messiah or the key to our success or failure. I would be more worried if we lost Djiksteel, Crooks or McNair plus keeping Howson was a big plus. I would quickly ship Tav out for £12m and reinvest it wisely.
