I took it as a given that everyone involved in the day would be going. The 16 players and the handful who never made the final squad. I think Nemeth, Cooper and Christie were the main three? But who decided not to invite some of the players, Jesus wept.

I doubt it, but I would have hoped so.
Without his goal against Spurs at the death this event wouldn't be happening.

Not sure if this is organized by the club, but they really do shoot themselves in the foot so many times.
How hard must it be to pull a squad list from that season and send an email ?

That's so poor from the club.
Especially if you've just listened to the BBC Tees interview with him where he went on at length about how much the club had let him down at the final, making him watch from the stands and not even letting him be part of the dressing room.
They apologised to him afterwards and they've ****ed him about again.
Can't blame him for not attending.

Listening to his interview with Mark Drury on Tees this week, it occured to me how good it would be if the club could have had medals struck for those that played a part in the run but weren't in the matchday squad and presented them tonight.
That they didn't even bother to invite those players is staggering.

We'd not be in the final without him. So seems a massive PR own goal. He's also it hard with his injuries. No doubt also plenty of mental trauma from retiring so early.
I actually don't blame him. I wouldn't want to be invited to anything as an 'after thought'.
You do see the usual names and faces on all the posters for this event. Not much talk of the players who played in the early rounds. It's a 'squad game' and all that.

bit of a shiiite show not inviting him after been totally alienated in the Final ... can understand Mills and Szwartch not going due to contract wrangles/ let down by the club

Honestly, the club have been absolutely woeful in a range of areas recently. If this was any other club we'd be laughing at how bad it was.
But something like this isn't funny. The poor guy has been shafted by them twice now and he's an employee of the club ffs.
If this is how they treat their staff, do you honestly think they give a flying fcuk about the fans?
